Very helpful. I'm getting ready to make a drawstring backpack with canvas fabric, so I won’t be using a lining and I love the french seam and box corners. The other tutorial I watched is good but she didn’t do boxed corners. Thank you for this tutorial.

Thank you! I cut my pieces exactly. Usually cut a tad larger then pattern stipulates and square up after sewing. So this time I've really struggled. Your method has been a fantastic help. My diamonds have perfect points with evenly lined up fabric edges. For adding the next piece.

You could take the cover off of the second one and use it on the first one. Then you will have one whole working rotery cutter!!!!!😊

Hi I’ve got a few different items and I’m not sure what is interfacing and what is stabiliser as I didn’t put labels on them I bought them from rolls in a fabric store how can I tell what I’ve got thank you
@PennyDogPatchwork3 ай бұрын
If it has adhesive dots on the back (like a rough texture on one side) it will be fusible interfacing. To find out what kind of stabilizers (without the fusible) you could cut off small pieces and see if they tear or dissolve in water.

I realize this video is five years old but today I was reorganizing my craft room and found my Tula pink rotary cutter. The reason I found you I wondered if there were any new info on how to repair. The very same thing happened to me. The only difference is I just have two non working Tula pink rotary cutters no store credit and I had to contact the manufacturer who was a bit rude I will say myself. Thank you for sharing I guess it’s a lesson learned.

I just bought one too. I actually wore out the first mat. I'm always working on something so my mats get a lot of use. I'd say that first mat last 10 years. It was a treat to get a new one! So light and bright. I opted to not cut my mat at all because there are measurements on all 4 sides which is awesome. I'm also going to use all of the mat, not stay in one place which is what I did with the old mat. They really are a great tool and I think we forget that tools get worn down and need to be replaced, sharpened or dealt with one way or another. I wish I would have replaced sooner - such a great mat!!

Thanks for making this. When I bought my scanncut a handful of years ago, I hot all the extras, blades and accessories with it. But I’ve been afraid to try out my deep cut blade or any other thicker materials than vinyl or fabric, so my deep blade is still in its original packaging 😅 Now I feel empowered to try some thicker stuff!

Thank you for the information. Interesting to me, which has nothing to do with your video, is that I was on vacation in England a few years ago, (I live in Milwaukee), and bought the owl dress that you are wearing at a boutique in a small town for my daughter!:) Love that dress, did you design it?

I love this pattern, but I'm not too keen on how it looks in the back. I've made 3 of these so far, but with the elastic waist. My last make were the straight crop pants, and the back doesn't suit me at all. Since I have nothing to lose, I'm going to unpick the back from the front and try this hack, which I really find useful. Thank you so much for making the video.

I just broke my wife's previous Tula Pink rotary cutter today. It was the same tiny plastic clip that broke off. I was using firm pressure to cut through all three layers of quilt so thought I was too clumsy. Reassuring I'm not the only one. My aim now is to track down replacement parts. If this same design is used for other brands, maybe I can track down the original company. I'll try Brewer like @pennydogpatchwork said earlier. Has anyone else found a replacement part? Could it be 3D printed?

Love this! Thank you. Really hope more bag makers will do this, so helpfull. As I sew bags myself but don't use them all that much I've honestly been a little afraid to sell bags because I have no idea how they will hold up. Since they're expensive to sew they will be expensive to sell, and I would just hate selling a bag that breaks on a customer way to fast.

Thank you for the glue on fabric method! I’m new to EPP and though paper is plentiful, I am actively trying to reduce resources consumed. I will be able to teach visiting children how to glue baste then give them a finished project later (and show them how to do the stitching if they show interest). We are always looking for new things to do together.

With anything at all wrong with the plastic cover that holds the metal "axle" of the blade, it becomes a paperweight. The plastic claw that goes into the channel on the spline of the axle is too streched/deformed to hold on tightly. I have angrytweeted Tula Pink, as there seem to be no replacement parts anywhere for what should be a $2-5 part.
@PennyDogPatchwork Жыл бұрын
It might be worth contacting Brewer as well, they're the ones who import them under the Tula brand
