I think to a part, it is definitely controversial, that Aaron was so young when they got together, but until now, they seem to maintain a healthy relationship, so who are we to judge. I‘ve watch Back to Black and I like her style of making movies, they might be no blockbusters but she keeps true to her style. But you are right, the depiction of the progression of time is a bit off.

No need to over analyse, Rachel's case was that she's not considered a "pretty" girl or let me break it down that "she has a mean girl face features" so everything that she's saying sth seems like it's mean and idiot out of thinking!! That's it, yes your face could buy with least effort media training or you just couldn't be developed more cause your face is way too unfriendly and arrogant! Simple reason for wishings of RIP

True method is not about intimidating, harming, abusing, or scaring people. When correctly applied, method is about understanding character motives and drives, researching jobs, conditions, etc. Authors technically do a form of method quite often, and when done well, neither they nor anyone else is harmed.

I love Arron Taylor-Johnson as an actor and a person but I do find it hard to not think about his wife. She knew him since he was a kid. That’s like if I married my godmother or aunt 🤢. Now if they had met when he was old enough to make his own adult decisions then I’d be a little more okay with it because they wouldn’t have known each other since he was a boy. I’d still find it a little weird but it would at least be a little more palatable. Idk if any that makes sense lol 😆

So an older woman marries a young man, they remain in said marriage to this day and said older woman has nothing to her name that indicates any perversion... yet she is vindicated to a much higher level than the men that get away with perverse disgusting acts and using and abusing women. Same women who cape for Johnny Depp will be calling Sam Taylor Johnson an old groomer hag for having a seemingly stable healthy relationship with a younger man. 18 isn't a child, idiots.

Method acting has taken on different meanings over the years. Before it was just a technique for an actor to pull on real emotions to inform their performance, whereas nowadays it’s more about getting publicity for being “deep” and “extreme”. At the end of the day, there’s no good excuse to being an a-hole.

I really enjoyed the video, and I am left wondering (for the first time) if our obsessions with gritty, realistic portrayals may beg this kind of "method" acting--perhaps better described as performative living. It seems to me that a performance is lauded to the extent that it feels and looks real. On my youtube homepage, I regularly see creators posting content asking: How does this performance/movie compare to the real thing? And it is heavily implied that realism is paramount. And, while I think there may be some truth to what another commenter wrote regarding a need to feel important, still, I think that Shia (and Christian Bale) may just be giving the people what they want. It doesn't get more authentic than when your face is bloated from excess drinking or your face is cut (or you lose a ton of weight--or you gain a ton of weight...) *edit: P.S. I like the T-shirt very much.

i dont feel bad for them about this. i think celebs should be left alone by paparazzi and their kids especially. that's about as far as my sympathy for them goes. if you are on an interview or doing job related things then it's 100% your job to appear as likeable to the masses you are the product and your art is an extension. if fans are coming up to you begging for photos and you reject them i dont care you dont owe them photos but people are allowed to have opinions on that and some people might think it makes you stuck up or undeserving in that case be thankful they are no longer a fan. you don't get the perks of the job, and the money, and to have everyone adore you and not cast judgements. not how the world works.

You made interesting video with a good topic, but many people already corrected you in a comments. While some people defending bad actor's behaviours by "acting method" are true, some of this bad behaviours can be untrue or misinformation. For example Heath Ledger or Mia Goth. Many people already said his death has nothing to do with method acting, and person who sued Mia Goth for kicking him had scam allegations against him before. It would be better if you'd checked information, as some of the actors you mentioned didn't make anything bad relating to their acting, or at least it isn't proven.

there's a world of difference between konstantin stanislavski's very specific and prescriptive actor training method and most of the silliness discussed in this video. if an actor thinks just staying in character between scenes is "method," they know jack shit about the method

The Method was originaly supposed to invoke your character's feelings through emotionnal experiences you could have had in common with them in order to portray them truthfully. Nowadays it's a marketing statement, both for the actor and the movie, and an argument to be in the race for prizes. "Being" your character is not method acting, because it's not acting.

He was not only 18, but FRESHLY 18, there's no justification, she says he was the one to seduce her and they never even kisssed before the engagement, it's creepy, he deserves better, the agegap he has with his step kids is less than the one with her. Both of them talk about how the public doesn't know the relationship, but, girl, with that age gap there's no possibe way it started or it's healthy in any way

Interviews are a two way street. I think someone celebs just get asked boring questions and on some occasions just offensive questions. I think having good media training comes in and helps dealing with situations like that. There are times were I feel like actors should just answer the Q's and move on, but it must be annoying to give the same answer over and over.

One of the reasons it happens more with women is that when women are given the spotlight very often they use talking points that try and paint themselves as a victim, and when audiences see a person who has every privilege in life trying to make people feel sorry for them then it result in hate: Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez being examples of this. Another variety is the ones who become too narcissistic about their beauty. You don't see either of these categories in men so much. The only category that both sexes share is in 'tryhard' or 'inauthentic' categories and these are the ones that got Austin Butler, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Lawrence criticism. My own personal one would be Lady Gaga, as everything with her seems to be highly rehearsed, even in casual conversation she is acting.
