And again an awesome video from your super interesting travels. Thanks a lot for sharing and making of theses little films. @@clukait thank you for your kind comment. Regarding choice of bikes, that is a tough call as we don’t necessarily select the bike we ‘should’ have to do the job, we select the bike which makes us feel good. As far as we were aware at the time, we were not in a 'red' zone and kept to all other usual EU drone restrictions (height, insurance, pilot license for under 250g drone etc). But do not take that as a guide and enquire with the Spanish authorities if you are planning to fly.

These days, we use DMD2 as the main app (on a Samsung tab3 or higher spec tablet) and an iphone with maps.me for backup. We often use google maps to find camping sites/fuel etc when we are on the tarmac. DMD2 is the best we know so far. Enjoy discovering adventure riding and make it what you want it to be.

great vid nice to see the middle burnt bit nice and green again I was there last year in May and it was pretty saddening to see all black from fire. scary fall that you had, it was rough when I was there too often stones burst open by fire at times . I had rain myself then snow turned me around at high elevations could'nt see any surface features I was solo, got halfway down Portugal before illness and time turned me back to the boat. Ain't the total randomness of meeting and riding with people great, had similar experiences. a few seconds before your tired fall I am almost certain its the spot I did similar 6pm plus tiredness too was trapped under the bike for 2.5 hours and a emergency call but all ended OK. I will go back. thanks for memory jogger.

Really good video among hundreds of tet videos :-) and showing much terrain that others have not. Now, I have to say the near crash with the car was more bretts fault ad i say that as a biker, he was closer to the middle than the inside which isn't smart on such small roads - we have to ride defensively at all times , the car had little choice but to be where he was based on the video - anyway, all safe so that is what matters but a driver who was less sharp with reflexes and different road conditions and you may have had a nasty accident on your hands... take it, leave it.
@carpe_via
@carpe_via 2 ай бұрын
Hi Ogasi, thanks for your comment. It is always a juggle showing enough terrain or not enough, glad we got it right for you. Regarding the near-miss, I was right up Brett's tail so saw exactly where he was. There was a ditch on his right and he was about 6 inches away from that, so totally tucked in. Any more to the right and he would have been in the ditch. Shame his gopro was off at the time...

@@carlos94091 Thank you, Carlos, for your comment. We had fun! The Transalp is a really cool bike, I rode the Mk1 many years ago and loved the engine. Regarding tyres, I would go more knobbly as the E07+ is a 60% road tyre. And when you need those knobbies, you really want to have them. Next time I ride in Spain, I will go for a tMichelin Tracker up front and a Mitas Rally at the back.
@gjavo6400
@gjavo6400 2 ай бұрын
@@carlos94091Don't. I live in this region and even on easy trails you'll find steep slopes that will get slippery when wet, which can also happen in summer or because of natural springs and streams and shady spots. E07+ is a nice 50/50 tire but useless in mud on slopes. I ride 80/20 Anlas Capra X (similar to Michelin Anakee Wild) which I love, but the front gets iffy on mud as of 50% wear. Still good knobbies though also on tarmac. (DR650 without luggage)
