Yeah so I sorta have it working, but the dissolve animation is only showing up when I crouch down. How do I fix that? (I only have one toggle on it right now.) Edit: Found the issue, you have to set the end point very high Edit 2: Nvm didn't fix it

It depends on what kind of hue shift your wanting to make. Is it just changing the color of the Clothes itself, Changing the Dissolved Color when you dissolve it or Changing the Dissolve Edge Color? 11:05

4:12 You can fix this with a second UV map for the shirt. The Dissolve Noise triangle window has a drop-down option for choosing UVs

is there a way i can make the model look normal in unity? and still having the shirt on in unity?

Afraid not, The way that this is made uses the clothes being off by default so they can turn back off again. An example since there off by default in unity when you toggle it on, it turns on the mesh and plays the dissolve animation that you gave it. and turning it off again activates the dissolve off animation with it turning the mesh back off since theres nothing keeping it on anymore. Like I said at the end of the video theres other ways you can make this type of toggle, Itll just need some experimentation and debugging. @nuketime59 explained another way of doing it if you want to go with that

I got my toggles working, but every time I load into the avatar it starts playing the item off dissolve. Is there some way to avoid this?

Yes turn off the object that is being toggled in game, in the scene.

So, you def can set it up so the dissolve animations don't collide with each other but it'll take much more then just the 3 animations. Setting different animations to play depending on what you are doing. Say if you want to still use point to point, you can make an animation for the shirts to make it so the dissolve off of one shirt is swiftly followed up but the Dissolve On of the next shirt. And vise versa. All of this will require you to not use the Any State Node since we need specific conditions in order to get dissolves to work correctly with the animations. Using an Int would still work but you can just use 2 Bools to get the same effect with little hassle.

Is there a way I can make the dissolve follow my avatar meshes instead of the view? I'm trying to have an arm continuously dissolving, but whenever I move it somewhere else, the dissolve doesn't follow it.

Tricky, by the dissolve doesnt follow it how do you mean, like when you move the arm up and down the dissolve doesnt go with it. Im guessing your trying to use Center out for the dissolve type?

Yes messing with the Emission and Hue settings in the Dissolve Tab will change the effects. I did a video on the whole Tab if your wanting to know more about the Tab

The toggles (both) dont want to stay set to "on" they work when i press and hold the respective buttons but then they disappear after any idea?

My guess is its probably a transition problem on one of the toggles. If you havent double checked them yet definitely see if there working correctly by debugging them

Thanks! The key thing I was missing was to expand the material under the Skinned Mesh Renderer, rather than selecting the .mat file itself. It seems the latter, when the recording button is ON and you drag a slider, won't add any keyframes.

I see what you mean, sorry the confusion. I should have mentioned that you can't record a material when you select it on its own. I did it for testing purposes, as you can't select both meshes to work with their materials simultaneously as I said in the video. I can see how people might select the materials themselves, as I did. Instead, what you should do is select the mesh and then record the material you wanting a animation from. Thanks for bringing this to my attention my man

About animating colors for multiple materials: All materials use the same directory which is what the animation window uses when creating animations, what this means is that every material that is the same type used under the same mesh that has “Emission Color” enabled will be affected by the animation. The only way to prevent this is to have the material under a different mesh. This is easy to use on different accessories however you wont be able to color one specific mesh radically different colors and creating multiple meshes will severely affect your avatar’s performance. Some shaders such as poiyomi allow you to rename each material under the same mesh (this creates unique directories for each material for which will prevent the animator from changing all the materials at once). Unfortunately this is only available for PCVR and there isnt any know shaders that has this capability for the Quest platform. For now when making an avatar, I suggest just deciding which specific material would be the best to alter until more customizable materials are released for the quest platform.

Excellent video, I have my doubts, in the default character called Hazuki, how can I select the pupils of the eyes and only the jacket so that it changes color?

Based on what I know about the default models for VRChat they usually only have one material, Not having anymore then one makes it hard to change a specific thing so you would definitely have to go into blender and set more materials on the model. It envoles adding a new material going into edit mode, selecting the polygons meaning the pupils and jacket then assigning them to the new material. You'll have to export the model out of blender and port it into unity. Just know if have made any adjustments to the model you'll probably have to do them again or throw the FX/Para into the new one

You have to make an emission mask, - basically you take a copy of the texture, paint everything black that you don't want to hueshift, and what you do want to shift you paint white. (Black = Off, White = On) Then in the material details there's a little square next to the 'Emission' bit where you drop that image into. (Directly under the tickbox for enabling emission) Only problem is that they'll all be the same colour, since it's all 1 material.

Yes but it could use more mb size on the avatar because of the more materials, if you look up how to do material swaps you should be able to do it that way for quest
