Beautiful scenery. The plane is a "lovely" machine. I think it's a safe area for flying..., something I miss because my area is mountainous, even though it is only a few kilometres from the sea. (an engine failure is always there, hidden in our minds).

*AirBikes are hard to find ... been looking at the Ultralight "Ruckus" but the guy building them is a tad overpriced .... it's a $$$ step up from these but sure looks solid and if they get an F23 for an engine on it.......and the kit price to a better spot ..... Nice landing ! You're wings fold, don't they? I'm curious how they are supported at the tail. I don't want to make my tail fold, so I'm trying to come up with other ideas .
@AirBikeNC7 күн бұрын
Mine do not fold. There is an option in the plans to build foldable wings though. I didn't do it because I didn't want to add the weight
@GarysEagle7 күн бұрын
@AirBikeNC ah OK, the legal eagle design is similar but your supposed to cut the fabric and epoxy a small bracket on the top side of the wing that catches another bracket on the rear of the fuselage. And I'm not a fan of that.

@AirBikeNC10 күн бұрын
The phone app is called "Flightdeck" and sometimes shortened to "Fdeck". It is a sweet app. It also has a moving map, but for me it is easier just to use the ADF feature and just glance down at the needle. The engine powers the instruments and pump just fine. Just run it through a regulator/rectifier. I'll send you pic

You could bolt on an industrial swivel caster, end every flight with an exhilarating ground loop! Have someone with experience welding thin wall 4140 Chromemoly tubing re-weld it. Preferably with a Gas torch. ..in antique round welding goggles. ...and overalls. You have an image to keep - when you have a tube and (minimal) fabric aircraft. In all seriousness, get it rewleded instead of bolted. This is your second mechanical failure in your tail, problems might be propagating from the initial failure, or the weld may have been cracked and malformed gradually causing the rod failure. recheck all your control horns, fasteners, joints, hinges.
