Excited to be back to enjoying the series after taking a bit to recover from the world being set ablaze! I saw you started uploading Act 2, so I'm wicked excited for when I'm all caught up. 🙌 Holy SHIT I needed the laughs from this episode, they were top-tier. The first squeaky-toy impact noise got me, but the next one, alongside the comedic timing of getting a lecture about personal space and IMMEDIATELY disregarding it, fucking killed me. 😂 Peaceweed has left him with only two speed settings: motionless and RUN. Walking into the miner's cabin and immediately NUKING the spiders really got me, too, especially thinking about it from "Snowberry's" point of view. Jade shuts the door to the cabin, and a massive KABOOM and light show shakes the entire thing. 🤣 For once, his "Still alive? Good!" comment felt really fitting. I'd be remiss if I didn't express just how cute of a nickname "Snowberry" is for my favorite traumatized boi. "Snow" for his wonderful, platinum hair, and "berry" for the fruity hand movements from the teleportation spell (and dance). ❄🫐 I hope others in the main cast get the same nickname treatment! I half-expected her to not-so-kindly tell Bunvar to go fuck himself and walk on, but I'm so glad she didn't. Watching those two morons beat the snot out of each other is the highlight of the Road to Ark in every playthrough for me (but let's be honest, Ulvar is WAY more deserving of the beating for those FUCKING LIP SMACK NOISES 😡). And it doubles as bonding time with Jespar! The attention to detail you put into this series keeps surprising me, too. Different outfits for each climate really helps the adventure and journey come to life! Speaking of "adventure" and "journey", that TRAVEL MONTAGE, tho. I always felt that the journey was over too quickly, and this filled in so many gaps! It really helps make the bond between Jade and Jespar feel more organic. We got to see it all: moments of levity, relaxation, and fun, opposed to the grim or dire glimpses of fights, tension, and Jade's sickness (can't get over how sick the arcane skeletal markings are). Great choice of music, too! Jade's got some serious finger dexterity, GODDAMN. I have no doubt that the montage took a ton of work, but it really shows! (And throwing the Skyrim easter egg off the cliff? Priceless 😂). As much of a pain in the ass as the egg quest is, I can't help but love Kurmai. His vibes are strange but really neat, and I've always been really fascinated by the Starlings' culture and story. Dude's got a ways to go with his manners, though, I had forgotten about the "good eyes" line 😬 Looks like SOMEBODY should get HIS eyes checked.

My entire body screams "NOPE" just *imagining* dipping into the ocean at the crack of midnight 😱 and Jade did it fresh off a ride aboard the trauma train, too. Respect. Still a big fan of her commentary (in both thoughts and dialogue), it makes for so much lighthearted fun! That keyhole comment at 11:47 had me wheezing once I managed to rewind and pause on it 😂 I love how Jespar is supposed to be the seasoned adventurer of the two of you at this point in the story, but his list of achievements on this adventure are: 1.) Smoked in Yero's basement 2.) Stood on a pressure plate and 3.) Rummaged in some flowers, completely missing a giant journal on the ground behind him Love that handsome idiot. Never change, Jespar, never change. (...until later in the story. 🥲) Ahhh, Yero's story...I think Jade put it well by tying the tragic ending of his tale into his feelings of self-importance. Even in his first letter you can hear how angry he is at the people around him for not sharing his mindset, Alfrid really did have a point! I never thought about the implications of the Phasmalist Bench in his basement, either 🤔 I wonder why he was never able to net Sira's soul, if it was him who put the bench down there! And hell yes, Castle Goldenford!! Love that spooky castle, I'm still trying to untangle all the mysteries in it. I'm glad you also noticed the Fleshless line from Dohra, because holy SHIT. (Possible spoilers past this point for anyone else reading this who hasn't beaten the game.) I wondered if she might be Fleshless, herself, (which would explain how she's still around, despite how many years it's been.)...but then I started thinking about her weird painting abilities. Aren't they kinda like those that Andrasta Braveblood uses in "A Touching Effigy"? If I'm remembering right, I think we learn that the reason she's still so youthful is from her paintings. Like she's stealing the souls of her victims and sustaining herself with them. If that's the case...shit, those poor castle staff. Makes me think of all the Rooms of Paintings, too. Just a theory, though! I always get really melancholic whenever it's time to leave Riverville during a playthrough, that montage was such a lovely way to send it off! Excellent song choice, I always feel the need to stop walking and take in the scenery whenever it comes on 😄 Looking forward to the road to Ark! 🙌 (Sorry the comment's a bit long, I love nerding out about all the lore details in this game 😅)

Also: The little bit during the prologue with the corpses and the soul gem was from a mod I forgot I had downloaded called "Yero's Cave Full - new soul trap system". Initially I had planned to actually do that mod and fight the ghost of Sira, but ultimately decided it was too much effort and I wanted to move on. Plus I thought it was funnier if Jade realized Yero was trying to bring his wife back to life via Entropy/Phasmalism, went "aw hell naw!" and just noped away like any sane person would have done in that situation, to be frank.

Jade's new armor/outfit and hairstyle look so cool! I keep getting hypnotized by the hair physics, it's like a pendulum when she walks lol. Very sleek! The armor will help protect her from everything except her inability to be called a good person, seems like. 😂 Blades, spells, and ghosts can't hope to match up against the dreaded *positive appraisel of her character* 😱 The Voice From The Water is always my 2nd favorite part of the Sun Coast, right after Castle Goldenford. Thanks for calling Meldor out for the incel he is 😂 that "real man" line always made my blood boil, the dude has no shame, accountability, or awareness, even after everything that happened. Kinda surprised to see Jade opt for being bribed at first, though! Was the plan to just let him think he had a chance to fuck with him, or do you think she might have let him run if the sum was high enough? 🤔 Just curious! It's fun to find out where her morals are and where she draws the line in certain situations. Regardless, the way Yera was just staring at Jade the whole conversation cracked me up, you could FEEL the judgement in those eyes before she changed her mind. 🤣 And that ending sequence!! Excellent choice of music, very haunting! I've never given much thought to how much fire must fuck with the main character's head in my plathroughs, but that trauma hits hard. Looking forward to the story ahead!

R.I.P Goat 2024-2024, we hardly knew ye 😔 I'm really enjoying Jade's journey so far! She's very unafraid to speak her mind in a lot of different situations, it's so much fun. And she has a soft spot for kids! (I'm sure this won't make a certain questline even more emotionally devastating. :') Not at all.) Your version of Riverville is so gorgeous and full of life! All the decorations and animals make it feel like an actual bastion of civilization. I was watching this on my TV, and my cat was *very concerned* by all the cat noises during the conversation with Tarhutie. 😂 Speaking of Tarhutie, I had concerns of my own when I heard Shooting Stars in the distance where she was dancing. I was afraid she was about to fly into the cosmos a la the 2017 meme. 😅 I'm so glad I was wrong, though. Looking forward to more shenanigans and adventure!

You've got a really good sense for cinematic moments, the trailer is wicked good! The way you switch between shots in time with the music adds to how surreal and eerie the beginning dream sequence of the game feels for me. I love Jade's design, too!! Those arcane skeletal markings that pop up on her look so goddamn cool, I can't wait to see if we get to discover if there's a secret behind them. I was always personally disappointed by how bland and blunt a lot of the dialogue choices are in this game, but your custom ones add so much personality! Looking forward to seeing more.

Yeah yeah, I know the return date means that this is quite early... I debated on scheduling the upload for later, but when I finally finished this trailer over the weekend after hours of painstakingly creating cinematics for Act II, I just REALLY wanted to share my progress. So I've almost finished the dialogue for all the quests that'll cover the second act of the game, and it's been fun. I've completed drafts for a handful of the first few episodes, so those will be updated pretty reliably, I hope. I also plan to do another little Halloween special - nothing big, but I can't resist doing something for my favorite holiday. :)

As mentioned in the video, this series will be going on a break. This way, I can have time to finetune the writing for my mod, deal with life stuff, and create a buffer of videos so I can maintain a more steady schedule like I have been. But because of the uncertainty of where my life will be in a few months, I don't want to yet set a timeline I might not be able to consistently commit to, so I'm just going with "late autumn" for now. Depending on how certain life events go, I may end up having to change updates to a bi-weekly schedule as opposed to a weekly one. This might especially be necessary with how cinematic the videos got, which tend to take more time because I can be pretty particular about how I want the visuals. But we'll see how much of a buffer I'm able to make over the next month or so. I've already started working on the next few episodes, and I'm really excited to redo certain things for the next main quests; doing those will be pretty fun for me. But I will be uploading some shorter, shitpost-y videos in the next few weeks, so the channel won't be completely silent. Expect a new trailer for Act II with an official release date, because trailers are fun.

Look, Denna ran straight into the water to find them! (If we ignore that that’s the ocean and I’m not sure whether saltwater frogs are a thing). Oooof and I was always too stupid to find that castle. The quest marker is so close to Riverville so I always tried to get to the castle from there. And once I had somehow made it up that huge stupid mountain I always got lost in the castle 🤣 Also damn, Enderal is prone to having entire areas destroyed by one single person with both Thalgard and Whisperwood. Huehuehue, the paintings surely do have essence… And damn, the place is called Throatstone. It’s Kehlstein in German and Kehle is throat, but I was never sure whether the name really meant that. So now I wonder what the place has to do with a throat. Oohohoh, just gal pals being sneaky. For five seconds. Very sneaky, Jade 😅 but very elegant tbh. I gotta find a way to get that Skyclimb mod working 😭 Ahaha the shampoo comment 🤣 Noooo Jade, didn’t your dad tell you to not talk to strangers in paintings? Also, difference noticed: Here Rys says that Lyf noticed too late, but in the German version he says that he thought he’d notice once it’d start, but before he knew he was trapped already. Oops, I guess I got the scheduling messed up and released this episode earlier than expected. Oh well, no take backsies. Anyway. BIG shout out to Jilljoycearts for helping me to make Lysia look more book-accurate! Specifically providing me with the overlays for the lichtenberg scar as described in the novel. It'll come in handy again in the future. Crazy how I couldn't find those particular scars in any mods, though. It feels kind of silly to go through so much work for just a small bit, but I'm a sucker for little details like that... and Lysia is my favorite character in Dreams of the Dying, so I really wanted to do something special for her in this episode by giving her a face. If I can figure out how to do NPC replacers, I might consider putting up a mod in the future so others can use it as well. We'll see. On that note: Everyone should read Dreams of the Dying. Even though the books have now been separated from the Vyn games, they're kind of a "spiritual successor" to Enderal for those who want more Enderal. (And who knows? Maybe it'll get its own game someday.)

And then they immediately get into a heavy discussion about theology and then into Calia’s tragic past. Yay! I love how you added some “actual” imagery of Calia’ story. Jade is so right about everything. Also, I can’t help wondering how many myrad-related accidents happen on Enderal. I mean, without the saddles and all? And apparently they’re tamed, not domesticated, cause they were so uncommon not too long ago. So I wonder how many myrads just go “fuck this shit, I’m out” and just fly wherever with a passenger. Especially since there’s no warden or anyone to help control them on the way. Or if they just chill at their tower and see something interesting in the city and decide to land in the middle of the marketplace on a busy day.
