I must say the preview was kinda funny: Tarhutie, dramatically: your aura is the color of the dying! 😱 Jespar: yeah it’s not a big deal for now. Don’t worry about it 😊👍 I think Jespar wanted to travel at night cause he hoped the bunnies and other cute animals would be asleep so Jade wouldn’t get distracted. And damn, his smug look when Jade complains about the cold. Very helpful again. And I fully agree, his weird following style is kinda annoying. He deserves all the German swear words and insults! Jade is so right for carrying a bunch of human bones though. As a dude who has a brother I can confirm that brothers just do that. We constantly stab and slice each other and then mom gets mad cause there’s blood everywhere and we have to clean it up. Those two are so smart for fighting outside! Yay, montage! Jespar got the moves! And I can almost hear him say “that’s a sign” when pointing at that Ark sign. Poor Jade 😅 …are you sure Jade didn’t shove him off some cliff at some point and that’s how he disappeared? Ooof Kurmai and his good eyes. Not awkward at all 😬 also, I wonder how many passing strangers he asked about their eyes. Not creepy at all.

I didn't think about that when doing the preview but that's funny, lmao. Nice catch. The bones are hilarious because I'm not sure if those were even there before going into the cabin? So I just imagine they fell out of her backpack. Needs those for her Phasmalism tricks. And man Jespar is just constantly riding her ass the entire time. No idea what is up with the followers in this game getting all up in your business, but he's definitely the worst offender.

@@beck-nightengale I think the bones are just a Skyrim thing, I have bones dropping to the ground all around me from out of nowhere every now and then (or entire dragon corpses). It's a feature!

Haha, yeah, it ended up being shorter than the others so far, since a. that damn montage sequence took a LOT of work, and b. I didn't want it to bloat it with boring stuff and make more work for me to do, so I kept it simple. Next episode is definitely looking like it'll be longer, though.

Excited to be back to enjoying the series after taking a bit to recover from the world being set ablaze! I saw you started uploading Act 2, so I'm wicked excited for when I'm all caught up. 🙌 Holy SHIT I needed the laughs from this episode, they were top-tier. The first squeaky-toy impact noise got me, but the next one, alongside the comedic timing of getting a lecture about personal space and IMMEDIATELY disregarding it, fucking killed me. 😂 Peaceweed has left him with only two speed settings: motionless and RUN. Walking into the miner's cabin and immediately NUKING the spiders really got me, too, especially thinking about it from "Snowberry's" point of view. Jade shuts the door to the cabin, and a massive KABOOM and light show shakes the entire thing. 🤣 For once, his "Still alive? Good!" comment felt really fitting. I'd be remiss if I didn't express just how cute of a nickname "Snowberry" is for my favorite traumatized boi. "Snow" for his wonderful, platinum hair, and "berry" for the fruity hand movements from the teleportation spell (and dance). ❄🫐 I hope others in the main cast get the same nickname treatment! I half-expected her to not-so-kindly tell Bunvar to go fuck himself and walk on, but I'm so glad she didn't. Watching those two morons beat the snot out of each other is the highlight of the Road to Ark in every playthrough for me (but let's be honest, Ulvar is WAY more deserving of the beating for those FUCKING LIP SMACK NOISES 😡). And it doubles as bonding time with Jespar! The attention to detail you put into this series keeps surprising me, too. Different outfits for each climate really helps the adventure and journey come to life! Speaking of "adventure" and "journey", that TRAVEL MONTAGE, tho. I always felt that the journey was over too quickly, and this filled in so many gaps! It really helps make the bond between Jade and Jespar feel more organic. We got to see it all: moments of levity, relaxation, and fun, opposed to the grim or dire glimpses of fights, tension, and Jade's sickness (can't get over how sick the arcane skeletal markings are). Great choice of music, too! Jade's got some serious finger dexterity, GODDAMN. I have no doubt that the montage took a ton of work, but it really shows! (And throwing the Skyrim easter egg off the cliff? Priceless 😂). As much of a pain in the ass as the egg quest is, I can't help but love Kurmai. His vibes are strange but really neat, and I've always been really fascinated by the Starlings' culture and story. Dude's got a ways to go with his manners, though, I had forgotten about the "good eyes" line 😬 Looks like SOMEBODY should get HIS eyes checked.

Your comments are always a treat to wake up to, especially in these trying times. 🥰 Luckily Act 2 should be going smoothly for the next few months regardless of life's obstacles, since I managed to create a comfortable buffer during my little break. And wow I forgot how ridiculous this episode kind of was, lol. And amazingly enough there was a lot more silliness happening in the old version compared to this, but some old and new gags did manage to make their way in. Jespar is super rude and bumps into Jade all the time. For some reason I don't think Calia has this problem? Which is funny because in a friend's game, it's the other way around - Calia bumps into their character while Jespar is more respectful of their personal space. What could this MEAN? 🤔 I'm glad you like Snowberry because it's definitely going to be a running theme! And yes, there will be more nicknames to come. Once I realized Jade was the type to give nicknames I knew I was in trouble, because I'm terrible at coming up with them unless I'm really in the thick of writing and an idea springs during the creative process. God, the travel montage... It was indeed a lot of work, but it was good practice when testing out new mods, animations, and video effects + editing techniques I was experimenting with, so it was well worth the work. It's the first in other various montages I end up doing throughout the series (and Calia, Esme, and Dijaam for certain get their own). Kurmai is kind of sweet, so I have a hard time passing him by. If I recall correctly, I think he has a blind eye as well, so maybe he really should get his only good one checked out sometime.
