Thanks so much for the video…what we’re you using to seal up the patch /to make the bead (I have a nice size hole in plastic that needs patched)

@jasonm106 hi 👋 thank you for the comment! The brand of heat gun is called - Leister and the model is the Triac-ST, the filler rod is Pvc, you can get 3mm diameter or 5.7mm - 3 core which is fairly chunky stuff. Thanks again for the comment!

I want to plastic weld a 12mm PP board to a thin, unknown thickness but thin, PE. Is this possible using the technique you demonstrate? Does the temperature need to be lower due to the thin PE? Any other guidance appreciated, I am wanting as strong a structural bond as possible and reasonable. Great work and very informative. Thank you in advance.
@allkraftdesign612021 күн бұрын
@CajunPat Hi 👋 thank you for the kind comments! PP & PE are two different types of plastic and won't fuse together no matter what temperature you set the welding torch at, glue wouldn't work either, the only thing I can think of is to pin them using screws. Sorry I can't be more helpful!
Useless pointless video no voice over and I could repair that a quarter of the time it's simply filling a angle grinder supported on both sides try an edging strip repairs on a cill the same way.

Hi, apologies for the delayed reply! The welding gun is 110volt and 1600watts, thanks for watching the video, hope you enjoyed! Happy welding.

What is the appropriate temperature for welding work?
@allkraftdesign6120Ай бұрын
Hi, for polypropylene it's around 280°C, if you're not getting a good uniform amount of melted material along the side of the welding rod turn the temp up a bit, if lumps of melted material are forming along the side or material is spitting out onto the surface then the temp should be dropped, hope that's helpful! Thanks for the comment.

This is awesome video, where can you buy the scraper, that's exactly what I need to remove some double sided tape from a upvc window. Thanks
@allkraftdesign61202 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for the kind comment! The scraper from the video is a bespoke made tool, I'm not sure you can buy them off the shelf, I haven't seen one yet. There's a link below on how to make the scraper, if that's not your thing I could make one for you 👍 I would have to order the material to make it. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKDMc5KKf72mas0

Not just inventive but craftsmanship to boot, and I love that it's all made from the same material too. Plastic is a marvellous material when put to use correctly, and its industrial..... you won't find any of these in the stomach of a fish

Good looking weld! not too hot, not too cold, good welding pressure. It may fail after 100 million years or so but that is just normal.. :D

This is actually not the best way to do this. Normally you'd use a heated butt tool welding process. the welding tool has a male part for the PP socket and a female part for the pipe. you push the PP parts in the male and female sides for a certain amount of seconds (see table), pull out and the inset the pipe in the flange part. also called socket welding (freely translated).
@allkraftdesign61203 ай бұрын
Hi, Thanks for the comment! your 100% right its defo not the best way, the video was just showing that socket fusion isn't the only option for joining plastic pipe. Thanks again for comment👍
@remkoensink3 ай бұрын
To whom it may concern: this is actually pretty impressive in my 15 years of welding PE, PP, PVC (U&C), PVDF, PA ans so forth, with all kinds of welding processes I have seldom seen this done so well in this way. really impressive craftsmanship! I have only 1 remark, are you sure it was 9mm plate? I think it prolly was either 10 mm or an imperial dimension.
@allkraftdesign61203 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you very much for the kind comments! The PVC is definitely 9mm, pvc sheet thicknesses we use are usually 3 , 4.5 , 6 , 9 and 12mm occasionally we us 20mm & 25mm for some fabrications. Thanks again for the comments!

Got any idea how to fix a dent in a vinyl window trim?
@allkraftdesign61203 ай бұрын
Hi, thanks for the message, the heat gun method in the video wouldn't work on pvc trim because it's more of an expanded style pvc with a smooth shiny cover. A family member of mine does surface repair, he would fill it, rub down flush and spray it but that might be more trouble than just changing for a new peice of trim. Hope that's a little helpful!

Hi, amazing job 👍 is this method can use for thin pvc sheet, like 5 mm or less?
@allkraftdesign61204 ай бұрын
Hi 👋 thank you for the kind comment! Yes you can definitely use this method of welding on thinner sheet, the thinnest sheet we usually use industrially is 3mm but I'm sure you could get thinner stuff but you would have to take care not to warp it with the heat. Thanks again for the kind comment 👍

Where do i buy the rod and tools? Will this work on abs sheet?
@allkraftdesign61204 ай бұрын
Hi 👋 you can purchase plastic welding tools straight from LIESTER, the model of the welding gun used in the video is a TRIAC ST, you will also be able to get welding speed nozzle. Liester is the best brand for welding plastics, ebay is definitely worth looking at for a used hot air Welder and a lot more cost effective. Plastic materials are best purchased from a stockist, it's usually cheaper and the quality is better, you could also purchase from amazon but its usually smaller cuts of sheet and quality might not be as good. Oh and yes you can definitely weld ABS using this method. Hope that's helpful! message me if you need any more info.
