I inherited 2 strider recently and from what I can tell through research.. They're much older probably mid 2000s..one of them has wear and I wanted to carry/use it. But I know it has resale value... So my question is.. Does anyone actually use a strider knife?

The only problem with the Ram-Lok is its button. It is as sharp as the buttons on Microtech OTF. It just hurts to move the lock with one finger, so I use two. I also adjusted the screw so that when the knife is opened, the blade falls out of the handle under its own weight, thereby essentially turning the Amphibian into a gravity knife (where I live, this is not prohibited by law).

Older strider head here, am I the only one that can’t stand the hex hardware on these DGG scales? It looks like a rando tit on the knife.

I was able to snag the DGG on the last drop. Feel super lucky to have gotten this variation. It was nerve racking trying to get it on the Strider website, increased traffic made it a challenge getting it in the cart.

Gen 3 XM-18 3.5" are going back up in price, especially with this new ZT/TriWay crap that Hinderer is putting out. The original Hinderers will go up in price due to the fact that they are in the original Hinderer configuration. Obviously my opnions, but it's a safe bet. I still have my Sterile Gen 3 XM-18 3.5" Spanto and don't plan on selling it. I've sold ALL the rest of my Hinderers. That EX100 is badass. I have an old CQC-8 and a CQC-15. Used to own dozens of Emersons (custom and production). That DGG SnG with 3/4 grind tiger striped blade is a KEEPER. My last remaining Strider (and I've had dozens of MSC and Striders) is a lego G10 FFG old school. Keep what you enjoy. Looks like you've got a perfect EDC.

It's to bad Microtech is listening to people who see knives as fidget toys, instead of tools. The reduction in spring tension on the lock, combined with the properties of coil vs loop springs, makes the ram lock up less secure than a BM Axis lock. This is why the new ram locks are more prone to fail with a spine whack. Microtech-don't listen to fools who confuse toys with tools.

This knife haunts me. Its blade shape and geometry don’t do anything for what I typically use knives for… but that shape has me obsessed. I love that knife. I would carry and use it to strip cable and break down boxes and no one would say crap about it because, look at that thing! I have a Stitch auto for off-hand, non-use purposes. I love that knife, and that make it feel inevitable that I will own this knife sone day, and regret it until I’m fidgeting and looking at it lol. Thanks for the review! Your points on ergos and heat treat are appreciated sir!

Been trying to get one but hard to find. I don't do facebook, etc. So I probably never will. I hear these have blade play, lock stick and boring 154 cm steel. For the price not good enough imo. I will stick with hinderer, CRK, and microtech...

Interesting... Myself, I don't really think Pocket Knives are really Heavy-Duty or Hard Use Knives. The only one's I would even consider for Hard Use or Heavy-Duty usage, are the Heavy-Duty or Hard Use Andrew Demko Tri-Ad Lock Folders... Why? The Tri-Ad Lock Folder is one of the only types of Folder I would consider Heavy-Duty or Hard Use. It's the only one I would not worry about damaging the lock during batoning... Or, Hard Use for Camp Knife Duties. Cutting cardboard or breaking down cardboard boxes isn't what I would call Heavy-Duty or Hard Use. Why? Any sharp bladed Folder can perform those tasks... Note: That's just my opinion. I am one that believes Fixed Blades are the proper Knives for Heavy-Duty or Hard Use Knives. :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
