Laconic you're not.
@timthenunesАй бұрын
Not sure if you mean that as a compliment 😅 - I’m no Spartan 😂
@stavroskarageorgis4804Ай бұрын
@@timthenunes Can you not look up the word "laconic" and figure what I'm claiming you're not? You're not economical with words. You use way more words to convey your substantive message than would be sufficient. You're excessively wordy. One does not have to be a Spartan, a Lakon, to be "lakonic". And, no, I did not mean it as a compliment.
@timthenunesАй бұрын
Great, so me using the term spartan goes so much over your head you don’t even get it when I’m joking. Tell me something, why do you take the time to write out you don’t like what I do? You aren’t obliged to watch anything I make you know. Thanks for letting me live rent free in your head. Oh, and as for me not being “laconic”, I’m not trying to be

Thank you for this video. I trained under John Jarvis and Andy Barber, both students under Mas Oyama. When John came back from Japan, he told me to fire arrows from my hunting bow directly at him. John fended off the arrows with defence techniques learn from Mas Oyama. We also trained under waterfalls, and in the ocean.

Good Video. We are A Trias Shorei Ryu dojo, however we also learn and train with some of the original Okinawan Shorei Ryu elements as well. Thank you for sharing this video, alot of this also can be found on Wikipedia, and other sources. Always be cautious of many internet sources when it comes to the true history and lineage of certain systems, styles, or "ryus' of karate-do as some sources have become blended and mixed up and do not tend to be entirely accurate. and of course martial arts dates back to the beginning of time. Kara-te is just a word defining the term of empty hand. the word itself is fairly new but our "do" or way, of martial arts goes back much further. There should never be any judgement on what style or form of martial arts one trains. just train, train hard, and make it a life journey for you, never just a hobby or sport. Find a good Sensei, Saboom, Shifu, coach, or instructor that you feel comfortable with but yet uncomfortable enough to push you in your training. Learn your internal history of your dojo, dojang, gym, or school. Again thank you sir for taking the effort to make and publish this Film Shorei Ryu Karate Studios, Bradley Illinois

I started Wado Ryu in 1976 and then a little while later we got new licences from Higashi. Nothing changed, we were all still happy just didn't know that The Popular Front of Judea and The Judean Popular Front had differences. I tried Shotokan but to me that was just arm breaking blocks for no good purpose. The Human Body works best when Bones, Muscles, ligaments and Tendons work in harmoney together with with Spirit :-) Reply

As a Tang Soo Do stylist, I practice Rohai. The way a kata is done can vary from TSD organization to TSD organization. Though I do find his version interesting. In every version that I have seen, before the two double punches 7:22 inside crescent kicks are performed. This is the first version I have seen without the kicks.

He was without doubt a true master, i have trained over the years with many so called masters, from wado, and other styles, but very few are true masters [even some 9th 10th japanese teachers], i can only name 3, suzuki wado, fay goodman iaido, and phillip holmes kuk sool won, they all have a rare quality that few people have, their stuff is sometimes raw, but masterful, where other masters have perfect technique, but just lack that special something, its really hard to put your finger on it. But if you are lucky enough to have trained with suzuki, you will know what i mean, he changed my martial arts life.

wado's biggest problem is the syllabus is very large, add kihon kumite, tanto dori, tachi dori, iadori, its alot to learn. Once you then take each of these apart, say koto gashi [from tanto dori, outside wrist turn], and learn it from multiple attacks and grabs, your syllabus begins to get larger and larger. This is without sparring or 1 and 3 step sparring or line work.
