Everytine i hear Glenn Miller , I think of my Dad and all he did for and this country fighting in WWII FROM 1942 till the end in 1945. Through Africa , Sicily , Italy , France into Germany!! All they ever talk about is D-Day and my Dad was fighting everyday from 1942 through 1945. He made 3 landings under fire!!!!

This was how it was then back in 1945 and those wonderful fuzzy good feelings that we had as Americans we won the war we defeated The tyranny of the Nazis and now here we are in 2025 and I am looking out beyond and yonder and I see the dawning of a new age of what made us great in 1945 America is great again. I was born in 1950 so I was born after the Great victory but I certainly do remember growing up in a god-fearing patriotic household and I really thought that since 1963 we lost our soul our spirit seem to be destroyed but yet there was a glimmer of light and finally in 2024 that ember was stoked and now it's burning brightly

My dad used to play Glenn Miller on the phonograph and taught all his gorls to dance swing. Still think of him when I hear Glenn Miller. He barely talked of his service in the War. Love and respect to his generation.

Thanks for posting this. Songs like these keep history alive. My mom was a switchboard operator in the 1950's. I explained to my kids what she explained to me, about how telephone systems worked back then, and how PE 6-5000 was actually the telephone number for the Hotel Pennsylvania in NYC. (We all stayed there one weekend, too, before it became dilapidated and was torn down)
