Genial!!! La transcripción está buenísima!! La interpretación no tanto. Se nota que tienes el nivel como para corregirlo si le dedicas el tiempo necesario.

Beautiful playing. This is one of my favorite songs by Anthony Philips. I just started playing guitar earlier this year and I’m working on his song Nocturne, but I hope to be able to tackle Song for Andy at some point. I love your channel.

@@scottross1780 Thanks Scott. I like this one a lot too. Nocturne is a much more demanding guitar piece than this one. At least for me, with the stretches and barred chords at some parts. Song for Andy uses a lot of the usual chord shapes that Ant uses on some of his open tuning pieces. Hope my video helps you in any way to be able to play it yourself. Cheers.

Amazing. But you should have gone the full "outside the cage!" bit, the keyboard slows down but it's just so emotional.

😊 This came up on shuffle today while I was in the car and I thought to myself you know I don’t remember Alex covering this. Maybe I missed it. So while I was not very surprised when I went to KZbin to find that you did, I’m so happy that it was there. Very pretty very underrated song of course rendered note perfect by you as always . Love it ! Hope you’re doing well Alex.

Hi Jerry, you found this old video of mine. The YT algorithm doesn't seem to take into account these. I barely receive any comments on videos that are this old. Thanks for still watching. Hope you're doing fine as well.

Very enlightening! When you started playing this I thought this was Eric Satie cover not Genesis. Only near the end of progression did it dawn me it was intro to Watcher of the Skies. I never heard the keyboard part adapted to gtr before. Perhaps a crossover influence if not for Banks, definitely Hackett. It was only after buying Hackett's Sketches of Satie (I ❤️) did I realize his song Kim could have fit nicely mixed in with the Gymnopaedie songs - obviously an influence. On that note, don't know if you play any of Hackett's solo works but I always want to transition directly into Kim from the end of Racing In A. You do some nice gtr arrangements - you and also TroubleClef. He has a good arrangement of The Lamia.

Thank you. Yeah, you're right. There's a strong influence of Satie's music (gymnopedies, gnosiennes specially) on his music. And on that track specially. I do play some of Hackett's work for solo guitar. He put out a pdf with some of his works years ago and I play some of it from time to time. There are covers of "Lost in Córdoba", "Hands of Priestess" and "The Hermit" on my channel. Troubleclef is the man! I miss him on KZbin and his arrangements for solo guitar had a deep impact in my playing and arranging efforts.

@@alian5189 It's a fairly easy tune to play with the open tuning. For most of the time you don't have to fret the third and the first strings since they're played open. Have fun.
