The gear shift does not knowingly go into reverse. It's a loose connection between the seat and the steering wheel

Did you know that the "drag car" was used in American Graffiti and they used the engine sounds for the Trans Am sound in Smokey and the Bandit? " Make it 3 yards MFr and you got a race" I know everything about that movie

They had like 107 premium pump gas that was leaded back in the day. Not this watered down stuff we call gasoline today.

It starred singer James Taylor as “The Driver,” Beach Boys drummer Dennis Wilson as “The Mechanic,” Warren Oates as “G.T.O.” (named after his car), and Laurie Bird as “The Girl”. One of the 3 cars that Richard Ruth built for Blacktop was modified to be Bob Falfa’s car in American Graffiti. Graffiti was a significant role for Harrison Ford propelling him into the role of Han Solo in Star Wars.

Although I'm a fan of most of the films he was in, I gotta say, virtually all the problems he had were of his own making, drank to excess & used drugs, no one to blame but himself, 😅

@hessiangardner9134 indeed he was a blessing, but like i said, his problems were of his own making, one can assume that had he not drank so much & left the drugs alone, he'd of probably gone on to be a giant in the film industry,

I grew up in Santa Rosa.until 7 years ago. Being a hot rodder at heart I owned a bunch of trifive Chevies and other muscle cars. Still own the 56 Chevy 150 utility sedan that delivered phone books for Pacific Bell Telephone...purchased it from the shop that seviced it since new and used it as a shop car..I acquired it from them in 1981 and it now resides in my garage. I drive it to local car shows in Las Vegas where I retired..left the back seat delete and fixed quarter glass.

I graduated from Petaluma High many, many decades ago! I remember at least one "Memorial Parade" on Petaluma Boulevard, I think it might have been included in the "Butter & Eggs" Parade. One of the women I worked with about 10 years later told us about being asked to put her '55 T-Bird in the movie as a "filler." Suzanne Somers was driving the white '57 but when they saw my friend's '55 they wanted it in there also. They didn't get much money for but just being involved was enough for her. That was a big deal in a little town.

The 1981 movie "Neighbors," in which John Belushi portrays Earl Keese, alongside Vic (played by Dan Aykroyd) and Ramona (played by Cathy Moriarty), Kathryn Walker, Tim Kazurinsky and adapted from Thomas Berger's novel, is a comedic masterpiece.

Great facts about the STUNT driver for Steve McQueen, which must everyone DENIES and says STEVE DiD ALL THE DRVIVING and everyone is always after the Green 68 Mustang, BUT THEN what ever happened to the DODGE CHARGER???? There had to be more than one original in the movie. Hardly anyone talks about the 68 Dodge Charger/ where oh where is it hiding OR REGRETABLY Did it get trashed??

I saw Blacktop when it came out in 1971. I was 15, in high school in Brooklyn and had a 1969 Pontiac GTO that my dad got me to work on until I was 16 and could legally drive it in Brooklyn. That film began my automotive cult journey. Following with epic movies like; American Graffiti, LeMans, Grand Prix, Point Break, it was about youth, cars and freedom
