The basic controls such as the blinkers and the honk should have been an international standard to comply, and everyone should have been the same in exact location and shape. Fuck manufacturers for putting shit wherever they please. I felt myself struggling whole seconds trying to find the honk or the blinkers when i needed them, something that could have put me in danger.

A geat review .. thank you Liked the suspension recommendations …. Could you provide a conversion to English Could you detail your height and weight Night time riding ... lighting … you do expect modern bike lighting to be up to par but after riding and owning the Triumph Speed Twin which is lethal at night l don’t assume this any more

Fantastic review! Lots of technical insight, you earned a new sub. 😊 I have the 23 MT09 SP... I found the bars far too high and front end a bit on the soft side compared to the rear which felt about right. I've fitted lower bar risers from the old FJ09 which has made a huge difference to front end feel it doesnt have that numb vague feel any more... but I still wish the front end had a slightly stiffer spring ( for my 102kg rider weight) So it's great to have confirmation that I was on the right track due to the fact that Yamaha have done exactly these things for the 24 SP model. Great bike and fantastic vid with good content. Congrats.

No one cares that pros like a double sided swing arm. We aren’t pros. Mill seconds and 10 mm deeper corner means nothing to us. We want the bike that looks like a piece of art and stops women in their tracks just to look.

The design was poorly done. Ducati could have done a better job on it. I personally care about the race approach; I'm often at the racetrack. Road riders shouldn't buy this bike if they are concerned about speed... I almost lost my life over a swing arm; it puts too much pressure on the ball bearing and can lock your tire completely while riding. So, I'm happy about the change.

$36K+ for the S? GTFOH! The German Gixer is still a better bike for 99.4% of road riders and it's cheaper.

As an owner of a few ducatis, it does not matter about the track. Most of the bikes ducati sell go no were near the track. The majority are bought by road riders. So it's irrelevant about marketing it as a race bike.

You're absolutely right about that, most ducati owners I know don't track them, even if they have the money because no one wants to lose 75 grand in a day on a custom bike that they love just for a fun track day. In north America especially even when it comes to the racing league most riders have other litre bikes. I've owned 12 ducatis and the jokes actually going to be on them because people purchase their bikes for the originality and beauty from every angle along with the uniqueness of a single sided swing arm. There's no doubt a double sided swing arm is better for racing and sure the performance will be amazing, but they're also in the business of making money and this is going to cost them more than they realize in regard to unit sales. I'm sure they'll refresh it sooner than they planned when they realize how badly they missed their main demographic. The single sided swing arm would be overlooked by most die hard long term ducati fans like myself but this model overal from so many angles is just simply ugly and nothing special at all.
@RPMoto
@RPMoto 21 күн бұрын
@@izacaqsha3480 That's what the R version is for. Ducati could have just reserved that swingarm for the homologation model or even as an option. They instead shoved it down everyone's throat. He is right about most Ducati owners just enjoying their bikes for road use. The electronics package on this new bike would be a pain to fix.

I'm looking at virtually identical frame sizes between the z400 and the z500 on Kawasaki's website, same seat height, only exception is the wheelbase being 5mm longer. Yet you are talking about the z500 being bigger and higher by 3cm what's happening

ABS for a bike which I may take to the track is a concern nowadays. Good to hear the KIBS system does not sound too intrusive. Maybe ABS development is reaching a stage where one might consider leaving it on a tracked bike. Shame about the lack of blipper.

Just got the 40th anniversary model and really like it but Kawasaki really blew it with quick shift up only, now I have to pay extra to get downshift autoblip. Mine is purely for the streets and hate the downward bend on bars - too low so I installed Heli bars and that made a huge difference for comfort with 1.5 inches taller flatter bend and 3/4 inch wider on each side. The stock muffler is an anchor so I got the Graves Works2 carbon catback slip on and shed over 10 pounds plus now it sounds good. Only things left are a tail tidy and tinted windscreen, the throwback paint is gorgeous and worth the $500 extra charge. Love the bike in canyons and it can hold its own with just about anything out there😎

the 500 is sorta like a track touring hybrid. the 457 is much more of a track bike out of the box with its upside down suspension
