I get so tired of BILLIONAIRE owners crying poor. David Rubenstein is worth 4 billion dollars, the Orioles have 151 million in obligations. OR less than 4% of his net worth. If you make $5000/month and spend $300/month on your entertainment you're spending 6% of your income. THATS ALMOST DOUBLE THE PERCENT THAT RUBENSTEIN IS COMPLAINING ABOUT. It's about total value and these guys are stacked. Don't let them twist it. 4 billion is 4 THOUSAND MILLION DOLLARS.

So like, i believe that people should be allowed to bet when they want and they should do it responsibly. These masaive sports betting companies that theow advertisements on everything and make the sport about making/losing money as a fan is extremely disgusting, and morally they should be banned. They are predatory vultures aping off of hyping up the fanbase to part with their money and monetize the fuck out of everything. Its always been a part of sport but its always been a negative part of sport, and it always ends up that the only ones who are truly winning are the bookies running the joint. You may bet and win big, but they love that. They get to parade their big winners around and point out that you too could be a big winner! But you never are. Good luck out there guys. Multi-billion dollar companies are now spending every single cent they can to maximize the amount of money they can extract from Fans. The new age of sports betting with modern technology will only spell trouble, and it is a massive devils deal by the orgs

Add a floor with the cap and give the players 50-60 percent of revenue. They’re the ones generating, not the do-nothing billionaire class.

NFL has received nothing but shit recently for how utterly predictable it has become. Of the past 6 including the current one to be played tomorrow, we’ve seen only 6 teams out of 32 in the superbowl… and the Chiefs played in 5 of them. 9 of 30 MLB teams made the world series the past 6 seasons. in 6 years, a third of the league has made the finals. That’s unparalleled in most sports

W take. The owners all have more than enough money but choose not to spend it because they can ride off of profit sharing. If your team’s owner wanted to spend they could, but they’d rather penny pinch than try to field a winning team. They see the team as an investment and not an actual business centered around winning. Rather than discussing a salary cap, I think it would be more productive to institute rules that force owners to sell if their team doesn’t make the playoffs in X amount of years.

You say that...but the LAD, NYY, and NYM rosters this year alone are worth more than some team owners NET WORTH 😂 Face the facts man, it's an unfair advantage
@rishishard4742
@rishishard4742 6 сағат бұрын
@greencat1849 that's straight up wrong. All pro sports teams are worth minimum 1 billion dollars, and dodgers payroll is 300 mil.
@greencat1849
@greencat1849 5 сағат бұрын
@rishishard4742 The Reds owner's NET WORTH is 400mil...so no, you're straight up wrong lil bro. And btw, net worth isn't how much money they have on hand...it includes assets owned by their respective businesses and investments, so that 400mil net worth is really only like 150mil on-hand to pay for player contracts. And like you said, the LAD roster this year alone is 300mil+...once again, showcasing the unfair advantages due to no salary cap. The Reds owner could only put together the LAD roster for 1 year if he liquidated all his businesses. Pretty clear unfair advantage if you ask me. AND to put a ribbon on this...the LAD 300mil+ payroll doesn't include the luxury tax they have to pay...which bc they gone over so many times, is basically another +50% of their payroll total, meaning the LAD roster this year costs more than the Reds owner, and multiple other owners, entire net worth.

You're just ignorant if you think every owner is a billionaire...for example, the Reds owners entire NET WORTH is only 400million....that's basically the LAD roster this upcoming year alone. And Net Worth isn't how much money an owner has...net worth includes all assets, most of which aren't able to be liquidated quickly...

I played hockey and we had a code too, namely be a man, don’t showboat, defend your teammates. When you fight, you drop your stick, gloves and take off your helmet, that’s just being a man! Don’t shoot puck after whistle or in other team’s net during warmups…

A spending floor would be way better for baseball. Forcing penny pinchers to invest in talent or sell the team to someone with the pockets to do so will help the sport in the long run.

I couldn’t understand what I was hearing at first. Who in their right mind wouldn’t want a salary cap for major league baseball other than a major league baseball player? And then I figured it out…. We had a salary cap that would come with a salary floor as well. Teams like the Tampa Bay rays would be forced to spend more money and maybe actually keep some of their players. Yes, major league baseball is experiencing record profits, but that’s incredibly misleading. It’s profitable, but not equitable.

The owners are the ones responsible for how much money being paid the players. They don't HAVE to pay Joey Batts eleventy million a year. They choose to, because they want to have that talent instead of other teams.

Would you be ok with a cap if a substantial floor goes along with it? I feel like a floor would be more beneficial to the majority of vets. The big stars won’t be making Soto money again, but the Brandon Belts of the world would be in a better environment to stick around longer. I could be wrong though.
