Cher was my first celebrity crush at age 4, which would have been sometime in 1974 when I first developed that crush while mom was watching an episode of The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour. I can't recall specifically which episode that was (maybe this one, who knows) but after I fell in love with Cher I pestered my parents every week asking them when it was coming on TV haha!

I remember, as a High School Junior, seeing the original broadcast of this, and being blown away by the idea of treating a "classic" with a "modern sensibility" Started a music career that spanned 50+ years!!! ❤❤❤

Cher had found out she was an employee of Cher Enterprises, in which Sonny owned 95% and their lawyer owned 5%. She was an employee only. She wanted the contract torn up and split it fifty-fifty. Sonny swore he and CBS would sue her, but in reality, she didn't have any money. She called Fred Silverman, head of CBS to cancel the show. When she went back to work, she ran into Sonny. They sang "WILL YOU LOVE ME TOMORROW "Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour was done in March 1974, even though Sonny had filed for separation and Cher filed for divorce, just a month before. They're making fun of themselves. That was a great,great record, but by the time of this show, Cher was already set on that overdramatic style that for me has marred her subsequent career. The story is interesting and funny, but they don't sing well. My opinion, sorry.
