I don't know what it is with Noel. He and I are polar opposites but I do like him. I find him interesting and amusing. I was first introduced to him on the baking show and he rapidly became my favorite. Just goes to show you.

Thanks for the upload. In the Netherlands we had a Dutch remake of this called "friends for live" I always wondered where the story came from.

Wonder why it’s in a lower key than in the movie? I think I prefer it in the higher key, but this was likely a more comfortable key for Jonny. He’s definitely better than Tony Christie’s version which has way too much vibrato in it for a pop song. Plus Jonny was younger than Tony and you can tell the difference.

Absolute garbage, compared to Tony Christie this guy can't sing. This song was originally recorded as a theme tune to an all action TV series called the Protectors. It was never recorded as a POP song. Moron.

I wish the obvious time constraints weren't there, just so all of it wouldn't have to go so fast. Really enjoyed it nonetheless. The craft and the material are excellent, of course, but there's also an electricity to them that's exciting to watch..

The director directs this comedy as if it were "serious Russian drama" and consistently misses every opportunity for comedy by taking every word of every speech at face value. As an example, Davis throws away the crucial line of the play at 00:37 - "my money" - without which the ending (even reworded) emerges out of nowhere and doesn't make any sense.

All the lines are there but neither the director nor the cast always know what they mean eg Elena's comment at 05:19 which couldn't be more wrong. Barratt's characterisation is wrong, which accounts for the lack of comedy in what is otherwise a very funny play. Imagine how perfectly Tony Hancock would have fitted the role of Grigory!

When did this air? I saw The Mighty Boosh on a US tv special years ago and I thought the name was taking the piss at George Bush! Don't remember anything else about it, sadly. Had my chance to be ahead of the curve and I blew it, Curley.
