All the lines are there but neither the director nor the cast always know what they mean eg Elena's comment at 05:19 which couldn't be more wrong. Barratt's characterisation is wrong, which accounts for the lack of comedy in what is otherwise a very funny play. Imagine how perfectly Tony Hancock would have fitted the role of Grigory!

It's meant to be funny, but it's not. This looks as if they pumped all life out of Chekhov's writing.
