Really happy to find some sustainable birth advice 😊 this is my first and I’m also planning on going down the cloth nappy route. I’ve put muslins and motherease wraps in the birth bag but also disposable liners to make cleaning the meconium poops easier. Question: were the reusable maternity pads worthwhile? I feel a bit clueless about bleeding postpartum. If it’s like a really heavy period for a whole month then buying reusable pads seems worthwhile. Currently I’ve just bought a pack of 24 disposables, but I have reusable ‘regular’ pads, that I had already, to use when the bleedings got less. I’m really not sure what to expect though! Due to sensitive skin, I hate wearing even the reusable cotton pads I have when I get my period so I’m dreading having bleeding for multiple weeks!!

Do you wash the dirty nappies in the wet bag? or empty the bag and wash them seperate in the washing machine? I'm trying to reduce double handling and considering getting a mesh bag to keep them in throughout the load of washing

I've borrowed quite a few ideas (including cloth nappies and lip and cheek balm thingy).. 😀♥️ Now my little boy is just over 7 months old and I've ordered a potty to come this week, so very excited to try! 😁 He is also a "sitter" and isn't crawling yet, so we'll see! This was inspiring! In regards to zero/little electricity: what powered the shower? Fridge? Etc? Looking into setting up a glamping site just outside London on our land and electricity availability may be tricky. Would you be put off by a personal cool box replacing a fridge? I’m thinking gravity fed and gas powered showers/water may be a good solution to water.
