I noticed that you pressed the "Milkshake" button instead of "Spiked Slush". I would have assumed for frozen drinks with alcohol you would have used the second option. Do you always use the Milkshake setting? Or is that just because there's dairy in this one? Edit: Nevermind, I see you addressed this! I am curious which setting you usually use, though. If I can ever get my hands on one of these.

The present buttons are not very relevant to the Ninja as they’re just gimmicky temperature settings with the coldest being the “spiked slush.”

There’s a drink I’m wanting to try and I have no idea what ratios to use. I only know the ingredients the place used. It had: Smirnoff Vanilla, Peppermint Bark RumChata, and Owen's Espresso. Any suggestions?

Thank you! Your spreadsheet is an absolute must have to make stellar frozen drinks with the Ninja Slushie. Your videos and this great tool you've made make my frozen cocktails the literal toast of the neighborhood! I can now calculate Brix from any 'nutritional panel' serving data (X grams sugar / Y grams TOTAL solution) * 100 = Z° Brix. Then I input and adjust the recipe using your spreadsheet to achieve the desired ABV / Brix values...and... BAM! Perfect frozen concoctions in no time. I didn't realize how much there is to mixology. Well done video series. Professional and accurate. Keep up the great work and thank you again for helping me "make and drink" excellent frozen cocktails.

Haven't tried a spiked egg nog yet, but usually I just put a quart of egg nog in and press milkshake and it comes out as a perfect milkshake.

You answered my question, I have store bought eggnog (not spiked) and was wondering if I could just pour it in the Slushi on the milkshake setting. So thanks!!!

I would love some help using this spreadsheet. I tried using it but it's not giving me a calculation for water input. I am using the spreadsheet with the information on a liquor brand name Hpnotiq 34 proof which is 17% ABV. has fruit juices, vodka and cognac. the sugar content per ounce or 30ml. 10.9g or 10.9 Brix. it is 103 calories per ounce so how do I make entries to figure how much water to use?
@MakeAndDrinkFrozen2 ай бұрын
You add in the water amount you want to add and then it calculates the final brix and ABV, it won't tell you how much to add. You can then adjust the added water to get to your desired brix and ABV

Thanks so much for this spreadsheet! It’s a great tool for developing recipes. I do have a suggestion. It would be great if the ABV and BRIX at the bottom would be green if it was in your recommended range, red if it was over and maybe yellow if it was low.

Thank you for doing this channel. I've had a commercial slushy machine for a few years and getting recipes have been difficult. It's usually just been hit or miss with a premix and adding 33% more water. It will be nice doing a mix that has a better chance of working and not being overly sweet and acidic
@NvrBst2 ай бұрын
Loved the video, seems like you've done a lot of testing, would of been nice to show/tell us more about your test resutls, for example what happens if you have too high/low ABV but correct brix, or too high/low brix but correct ABV (sounds like crystal size for this one?) and such. Also it sounds like the numbers you gave are for optimal texture, would be nice to also list the min/max as well; aka it sounds like some people on the ninja slushi has done 6 brix drinks (your saying the crystal size is bigger) but maybe some prefer that texture over the one your calling optimal! For example situation like, say I have a recipe I want to keep high, example 15% ABV, can I compensate that by making the brix less like 7% or should I keep brix at the listed ranges still? Thanks
@MakeAndDrinkFrozen2 ай бұрын
High ABV and it won’t slush. Same thing with too much sugar. So you’re left with just a cold drink. Too low sugar and it also want slush because you’ll create ice crystals that are too large. Potentially damaging the machine. If you’re interested in min and max numbers, Ninja provides those guidelines for max sugar, max ABV and the min amount of sugar needed to slush. So no testing is needed there. But minimum sugar does not equal a good slushie. Drink is not cold enough and has bad texture. So yes you can do 6 Brix and even under but that’s not really a slushie and if that’s someone goal they really should consider blender drinks instead. Unfortunately, I just do t have the time to devote to creating videos on all the different alcohol and sugar ratio combinations.

Hi! I just got my Ninja Slushi and one of my favorite frozen drinks is the Rock Lobster (typically made in a blend). One of the ingredients is half of a banana. I know not to put solids in the Slushi, but do you think it would work if I really mashed it up and mixed it with the other liquid item (rum, drink mix etc.) prior to pouring into the machine? I would make sure there were no lumps. What are your thoughts/suggestions. Maybe substitute with a banana syrup (if that’s even a thing).
@newbie2guitar8 күн бұрын
Substitute with banana syrup or puree and yes it is a thing.

I would LOVE if you could recreate the Painkiller they serve at the bar in Jurassic Park area. I have no idea how its made, its likely cheap booze and ingredients but man I always get at least two when im there. Could be a great use for this machine cause it is a frozen slush sort of thing.
