You might need mental health examination. You've been robbed. Bought a 2017 Frontier SV Premium 4X4, 118k three months ago. A very good dealer, fully serviced new brakes and all. Synthetic oil change at Walmart is $60. WIX: cabin air filter at Rockauto is $11.31, engine filter is $17. Nissan conventional automatic transmission working perfectly, nobody is touching it. In fact the whole drivetrain is bone dry to the axles bearing seals. Name brake pads are $20 per axle, rotors $25 each, again Rockauto. That's all easy DIY, but have an honest local mechanic who prefers I bring the parts.

Lets see, my 2015 NV 3500 left the dealership at new and never came back. At 90k miles, and 8 yr later, the only costs incurred was Mobil 1 synthetic oil changes every 10k miles. Which I did myself for about $45 for supplies. The van was 100% reliable during my ownership and was maintained according to the factory manual. You sir are the victim of dealership service writer up-sale tactics. I used to be a Ford Service Writer. I know their tricks.

Nissan owners you may want to investigate coil bucket contact prior to lifting your vehicle with levelers. Basically the way Nissan front suspension are designed they will definitely have CBC. All Dogs Off-road who have a ton of experience with lifting Nissans make this kit. I am planning on removing the 2.5 inch levelers and install this kit - RCKilla coil spring lift and AAL. Good Luck!

I just paid over $200 for 4 sets of brake pads for my '19, not installed. I'd say all this work was a good price. I hope this isn't your driveline fluid change? Should be your 2nd or 3rd.

Anyone who pronounces nissan like that, you know is canadian. That makes that service price seem a little more reasonable.

You got ripped off a fluid change 250 dollars at most in fluids cabin filter doesn’t have anything to do with blowing heat or cold out it will keep air from flowing through it but not hot or cold you need to change shops and wake up

I always get a quote from the dealer. Then i buy everything to service it myself and buy tools and put the rest in savings.. Dealers hose you.

I’m sorry you got ripped off , they was charging me 1100 diff change front and back , transfer case , transmission, antifreeze drain & refill, brake fluid refill … rip off … I plan to do it all and save me 1100 I’ll probably waste like 250 in fluids if that …

Orange Park Florida: Needed both front light assy replaced. Nissan wanted 1k for each unit and 1K for labor. I bought them myself for 425.00, plus clips, replaced and re aligned in 1hr 30min. That's 900.00 for parts and 300.00 for labor (labor rate) 1200 vs min 3K at NISSAN. Do not use these people.

Last year was brutal as far as smoke and fires, hoping for a better summer this year. If you end up doing that trip to Barkerville there's a good route from Kamloops up that's about 80% backroads, it's a great drive, I'd be happy to show you if you're interested

The dealer wanted to do a brake fluid service after 10k miles on my 17 frontier.. lost me after that, I live in AZ and went to a mechanic who actually tested the fluid for water and guess what 130000 + on the clock and still fine (not saying it would hurt to change it but its just not necessary out here). Im just now having to do any real maintenance at this point it required almost nothing parts wise until now. I do have a 4cyl manual transmission for what it worth but its a pool service truck fully loaded always.

Recycling center, or If you buy the oil at ATU as long it's 10 liters and less they will take it for free, but some will as for you to pay like 5 euro disposable fee.

What's current hourly shop rate at a dealership nowdays, $150 to $200 per hour. ? You might (might) do moderately better with a TRUSTED/honest skilled local mechanic/shop. Given "inflation", given it's a dealership, I'm not surprised. If the work is good, that truck risks lasting 300k miles or more. If you're still unhappy with the price, ask your trusted friends/family/co-workers for good shops in the area.

This is what a legit full service costs. I don’t know why people are surprised by it. I just spent $200 on 6 quarts of transmission fluid and that was discounted $6 a quart under dealer price. Having done this work personally it takes hours without all the fancy gadgets and a lift. If you’re not fond of the cost just do it yourself like I do, but be prepared for the challenges and having to buy all the tools to make it possible..

You said you used to work with those techs, so why didn't you change your own oil and driveline fluids yourself? Too lazy or are you just throwing money away because you can?

If you get good service and are happy with it, does it really matter what it costs ? Personally I do all my own work, so I know it was done correctly , and yes it has saved me thousands over the years. !

I bought my 2013 Nissan Frontier in 2014 and now it’s 2023 and I haven’t had any major issues with it. Towed a travel trailer (4,500 lbs loaded) back and from New England to Florida two years in a row and no problems. Now with 92,480 miles still no issues. My second Frontier and not my last. Thanks for the comparison and the video.

Just picked up a 2020 Frontier Pro-4X last week with 35,000 miles after looking at the newer model, Tacoma and Ranger and the Gen2 style, simplicity and the 3.8 setup just sucked me in. Tested a 2019 4.0 also but the 3.8s power won out.
