oh wow you're still around doing this stuff! you're a legend in my eyes! that stuff you did as Vibena !!! I have to ask but what sort of equipment were you using back in the mid 1990s?
@TimCant21 күн бұрын
The original versions of the Vibena tracks were made on an Amiga A1200 running OctaMED and a Korg M1 with a cheap Tandy mixer. All the samples were taken from my very small set of sample CDs and bargain bin CD singles! They were played out on dubplate, but for the full release the samples were played back from Akai samplers in a studio for crispy 16-bit quality. Please check out my latest Vibena EP on Bandcamp: Bandcampendorrecordings.bandcamp.com › ...Endor Recordings: Euphoric Rush EP (NDR018) | Vibena There’s also forthcoming EPs on Remix and Endor, thanks for watching and listening 🤓

I have 2 Questions.. 1, Can do this with Waveform13 free as I already have this or if not can I use Ableton12 Intro or do I need a higher package of Ableton? 2, This track sound wicked!!! Where can I purchase and download it? Thanks Great Vid.

Music production assistance? Can I just pay to have you around for good vibes? Great track mate. I want to thank you for your other videos too. Such a comprehensive breakdown of the genre gave me enough motivation to dabble in DnB again after giving it a wide berth for a while, so thanks for that.

Your attention to detail is exemplary,I’ve been making music since notator on the Atari up to ableton12 currently and in all that time I’ve seeked answers that I’ve never been able to get up until now April 2024,the landlord patch amongst others 🙌

Hi Tim, I don’t know if you’ll see this comment but I’ve been struggling to make drum and bass for months now. Not even half way through your video and the ideas came flowing! I stayed up until 5am working on a track (including arrangement) now I have a 9 min D&B banger in my hands all thanks to you! Keep up the great work, my friend.

Worth mentioning that if you use a lossy source, any change to pitch / playback rate will ruin the psychoacoustic modelling that went into the original compression. WAV, AIFF and FLAC are your friend.

Vibena - you are an absolute LEGEND!! Me & my mate are going through your tunes now reminiscing... I used to rock out to them as a kid growing up in London listening to Dream 107.6fm each & every weekend. Honestly, amazing man. Thank you

@@TimCant Tim can you please PLEASE put us out of our misery…. I’m sure I remember the DJ on Dream saying ‘it’s the B side to Vibes for 95’ but I think he’s wrong!!!? We’re going out of our minds man haha
@TimCant2 ай бұрын
@@clemfandango8398 yep that’s Vibes For ‘95 (Vibena Remix) which is the flip of the Positive Energy DJ Brisk Remix. It’s not on KZbin (though the ‘Just 4 U’ mix is which is pretty different) but it’s pretty cheap on Discogs 😁 www.discogs.com/master/224968-Vibena-Positive-Energy-Vibes-For-95-Remixes The track on KZbin that’s labelled as the Vibes For ‘95 Vibena Remix is actually the Just 4 U version. This is the mislabelled video kzbin.info/www/bejne/havcnoSYpr2Zgqcsi=KBKgdFtMcfouLR4b

I want to use breakbeats as percussion for my lo-fi hardcore punk music since I'd like to keep it a fully DIY solo project but I'm not a drummer (I also just think it would be a cool combination, and there's so-called 'cybergrind' projects that already do that and I love it), so I think I might be fine with more lossy file extensions, since the rest of the music is already going to have horrible production values to begin with, lmao. I might even play the breaks through a speaker and record the results with a mic and then use that, to make them sound even worse

Wow this is really on point. Really appreciate the references to originals ! I've been trying to replicate on ableton's operato, got the 808 and the reese but I'm a bit stuck with dred and that special overdrive/saturation coupled to resonance... Their overdrive stock plugins sounds bad :(
