That TZR 250 engine that was fitted to the TDR was genius of Yamaha plus the whole bike was meant to be ridden on tarmac even though it was off road styled - I bought a new one in 1988 and had it for 2 years - loved it.

I got bitten on a 350lc . Tank slapped me at 80mph and threw me over the bars > Was back riding it 2 weeks later and don't know how it didn't kill me looking back on it .

Yama cranks start to 'walk' at 10,500 rpms and 11,500 When welded . They go out of Phase even earlier.. Soo keep on free reving that thing :-)
