Same washer same problem. Took it apart and the spider arm was broken, thats where the rubbery sound comes from. The smoke could be from the water or oils spilling out true the arm towards the motor in the back. Bet you theres a mess in there. Same banging squeaky and smoking problem was happening to mine. It’s still in pieces though.

I just bought a chiq washing machine, and it's just a bad product. Just dont wat you're momey and buy one of these if you can find one.

Just received today. Yes, it is loud but that doesn’t bother me if it cleanses well. However, why does this vibrate that much when spinning. That’s the part I’m having second thoughts if it’s a good purchase or not

Something I've quietly noticed; (so what if the government calls me a high-functioning autistic), lol… These Maytags aren't too terribly consistent, namely with spin cycles. I had a Centennial at one time and was washing a load of towels. Just before the final spin the computer figured it didn't have to turn on the drain pump since all the water got extracted. Result: A dead-silent final spin with no drainage at all. And yet the GE washer series Always makes sure the drain pump Is On At All Times?

Does anyone else have issues with it not spinning clothes dry? Mine are never dripping wet, but they're definitely still very wet. Even when I use the extra spin. I'm not sure if thats because I got used to my old washer, which spun them dry or if this one isn't working as it should.

Hi Kirk, I really appreciate your videos. We are looking now at Maytag MVW 5035, GE GTW 485 , and eventually LG WT 7150; all have agitators. Like many people, we are very frustrated with this shopping experience. Could you please advise which machine you would choose. Maybe you could make a video comparing them, pros , cons…I would truly appreciate your input.

Just got mine delivered today great washer until spin cycle hits! Huge vibration the whole spin cycle and I live in an apartment so you can only imagine how that sounds to the neighbors below me. It doesn't move around just massive vibration. Which kind of lets me know it is leveled but none leveled it would be moving. Any pointers would help greatly or is this just the machine.

Maytag replaced my defective 575 model (after 4 years) with the 586 last summer. The water selection, I always use the Deel Fill, as High only does back a half-fill. Low is 2" water when I measured it.
