Apparently its original name was Mutant City, but they adopted a shorter name for some reason. Silence, on the other hand, is a completely silent planet with another banger of a song...

I get your feeling on special stages. But I’m finding it strange that you like the speed element so much. To me it’s a bias because of what the series became. I see sonic 1 as a puzzle platformer, the acceleration is there to be a bit challenging but you still have good enough control in the air to make any jump work, it’s especially seen in the water stages where the engine is slowed down, you can have a really good grasp of sonic’s trajectory. I had B.O.B. also on genesis which was a Megaman-esque game, the controls were way, way worse than of sonic 1. I’ll still agree that there was weird design choices.
@LaserTrapProductions15 күн бұрын
Labyrinth Zone seems so hated, but I thought it was one of the better zones. You're right, the water control is good, though I do take issue with the acceleration there still.
@magicksilver444415 күн бұрын
@@LaserTrapProductions Also, because you didn’t touch on that, I think the music are really solid all around except maybe the special stages, I particularly liked Spring yard and Labyrinth Zone.

"Most of the Ghost houses contain a secret exit"... I'm pretty sure they all contain a secret exit. Some send you to the Star world, that if you beat that you get to enter a flip world, an upside down where Bullets are replaced with Crows and and the Koopas have pumpkin heads.

Going to have to disagree. I had this game as a kid (recently recorded a deathless playthrough on my channel) and I recall very vividly that gamers widely regarded MegaMan 3 as much, MUCH better than 2, mostly due to the Rush Jet (which is very overpowered) and the slide. The Shadow Blade is a slightly nerfed (but equally useful) version of Metal Blade. Even in the early days of the internet (pre google, late 90s) there were a handful of fansites hosted by AngelFire and GeoCities devoted to the NES hexology that regularly polled the site's visitors always showing that 3 was widely regarded as the best. It's certainly the most challenging (thus, it is for MegaMan veterans, whereas 2 is more for n00bs), and the best part...it is the cheapest. A copy of MegaMan 3 can still be had for about $18 today, whereas the rest of the games will be much more expensive. If you are looking for a challenge or are a retrogamer on a budget, MegaMan 3 is the one.

@potat__29 күн бұрын
I think some of the secrets were probably designed with Nintendo Power in mind. That is probably why putting them in a seemingly random pipe appears poor now, but most of these "lazy" or "unappealing" secrets were likely just in Nintendo Power issues.

Absolute savagery on the keys. Wonderful job. I had a quick question, if you have the time to answer: YEARS ago, you covered a song from the NES Batman sequel. Have you ever played the original Sunsoft game? There was a song: the 4th Stage - Laboratory Ruins - that I've never heard done on Piano before, but its an absolutely insane technical song for the NES era. Take a listen sometime, if you have the time; I know you could absolutely crush it.
@LaserTrapProductionsАй бұрын
Sunsoft crushed their NES soundtracks! I have never played the Batman games. In fact, Gotham in Danger from Return of the Joker caught my attention when it was used in a Super Mario World ROM hack (Grand Poo World 2). Laboratory Ruins is definitely a fun track too.

I don't get why online guides keep saying Spark Shock is a weakness for Snake Man. It isn't. He's weak to Needle Cannon and fairly easy with the buster (I sometimes take him on first, but usually start with Top Man).
