The lift arm you attached from the blower to the mower deck lift, doesnt that need a special bracket under the mower that provides that hookup? Or does the X500 already have that on it? You're using an X540 which is different than the x500. Yours has a hydraulic lift. The x500 has a pedal lift. Usually there's a bracket with some bearings that is part of the kit that needs to be put under the mower to accept attachments. Can you confirm?

I want to purchase a JD snowblower for my x530. Is this x540 the same set up? Do I want the 44 or 47 for blower?

You need electric lift kit to raise snowblower, too heavy for foot pedal

@ualibtard2 күн бұрын
Not necessarily I have the x734 awd and I couldn't for the life of me find a video of the type of pto I specifically had. This is also a 2023. Turns out they used the pto setup from their 2 wheel drive model. Has to be fed through the front and then has certain lock in positions. Was easier than the older Deere we had. They also don't explain that when trying to get the pto connection for the mower deck it kinda weird. The first few times trying to get the pto shaft into its holder was a learning experience.

With all due respect, you didn’t mention what needs to be done to the valve on the hydraulic 4 hose block on the tractor between blower and mower operations. It is a must.

I bought a CC a few years ago because I live close to a dealer with a service center. It works great but I can see from this video why I made a mistake by not buying a JD. These operations on a CC are very time consuming and labor intensive. I have no complaints on how the tractor performs, but did not realize what I was getting into on the snowblower install.

How do you loosen up a feeder house chain on a 9670 STS combine
@tf72742 жыл бұрын
There should be a tensioning bolt near the front of the feederhouse on either side...not sure if the adjustment is in the manual, but most likely.

Hi Dave, how do I adjust the concave and sieve for Teff harvesting? or do I need a new sieve for Teff harvesting?
@tf72742 жыл бұрын
Depends which crop you are combining. We combine wet corn and you have to run a lot of air...we put the upper sieve the size of our biggest kernel for the year...and bottom wide open. The rest is concave and cylinder speed...there is never a need to re-thresh any corn if your cylinder and concave are set properly. You just take cob pieces and demolish them and send them thru both sieves and into the tank.

This video was very helpful!! It includes lots of good points. I have an X739 with auto-connect, and I had do a couple things differently to make the conversion work. For my mowing deck, my drive shaft stayed with the tractor, in a hanger (did not stay with the mower deck). So I had to move the mower drive shaft (with auto-connect) out of the hanger, and attach it to the PTO before driving over the deck. (Maybe I didn't have to attach it to the PTO yet, but I wasn't able to get it out of the hanger with the deck mounted.) And the bar that lifts the deck was locked into a fully up position (for when the blower was on). On the right side of the tractor, I had to pull a pin out that was locking a hook in place that was holding the bar up. Once the pin was out, I could rotate the hook, releasing the bar, lower the bar (a small distance) rotate the hook into an out of the way position, and reinsert the pin, locking the hook out of the way. My bar did not drop down far enough to engage the deck with just the hydraulics, so it helped to (with the parking brake on) put my foot on the bar to push it down while engaging the hydraulics.

Haha, everything just about jumped into its place. In reality, each of those steps represents a struggle, some small, some large, against binding parts, belts that don't stretch, L-pins that don't line up, etc. etc.

To improve on the handling of the handle for the chute movement, cut off the turning handle and use a cordless drill or even better a usually hardly used, cordless screw driver. An inexpensive way to enjoy the snow blower by motorizing the function.

I understand the gap is not adjusted by the idler pulley. It is adjusted at by the all thread bolt with double nuts. Spin the front nut to the back nut, then turn together which turns the all thread bolt which adjusts the gap.

The old gravely riders have a very similar set up. They have the pto right in front of the transmission and have a driveshaft that runs up to the front to work the blower. Kind of cool to see the old ideas carrying on.

Very impressive. Once you know the steps, you can be ready to work in about 15 minutes. I just watched the snowblower install from Husqvarna and they had two people screwing around with bolts, washers and ratchets, taking parts off and putting parts on and they started with the mower deck already removed. So it looked like the Husqvarna install would take over an hour. I don't even live where I need this type of snow blowing equipment but if I ever do, I will be getting John Deere.

Great video, this has been very helpful to me as the owner of a new X738 with auto-connect. I followed the procedure in this video to remove the mower deck. Then disconnected the auto-connect drive shaft from the tractor and hung it into the U-shaped bracket. But then I found it very difficult to raise the lift-linkage high enough to be able to latch it with the storage hook. Finally I used the hydraulics to lift the lift-linkage all the way up and was then able to latch it in the up position with the storage hook. Two questions: 1. Should I need to use the hydraulics to raise the lift-linkage? It looks so easy in the video and the video does not mention using the hydraulics to raise it. It looks like you can just push it up manually. 2. Once the lift-linkage is latched in its up position, does the hydraulic connection to the lift-linkage need to be 'shut off' in some way? Or will the hydraulic connection to the snowblower simply override the connection to the lift-linkage? Thank you.
