What guaranty do I have for my invested money, say in GIFT bank, In US we have FDIC insured upto 250k/account. Also no mention is made of what products and what returns. Too much of a rosy picture to trust. Sir, I am an NRI & have my Aadhar & PAN card. I am unable to apply Aadhar for my son. He is studying in Dubai UAE. Reason behind is, they are asking for a Bonafied certificate from a school in India, which is not possible. How else I can apply an Aadhar cars for my son. Pls help. Thank you.

NRI with ICO can not buy a car in India if that person has no PAN and Aadhar Card. I visited the Aadhar office, and the rules are that you must have 182 stays in India to apply for an Aadhar Card. Once you have an Aadhar Card, you can live anywhere or wherever you reside. Very strange. Western countries have this 182-day rule if one opts out of the tax system and pays taxes where they live for 182 days a year. Most wealthy people do that to avoid paying higher taxes. I applied for my PAN number and got one with a copy of my passport and IOC because I want to pay taxes to the Indian government under Indian government law. If an NRI wants to open a bank account (not an NRI account), you need an Aadhar Card. NRI with an IOC card can not do that. To open an NRI account in India, you need an IOC passport and your country's TIN ( Tax Identification Number ). I have a Bank account in Beijing, China, and Boston, USA; they never asked for TIN because I am a Taxpayer in China or the USA; they send me an interest-earned certificate at the end of the financial year on how much interest I have earned, which is handed over to my accountant for tax payment purposes. I do not want to share my TIN with anyone except my accountant. If you give your TIN to any third party, it can be misused. Please, NRI, be careful. I can buy or rent a car in the USA with only a copy of my passport. USA does ask for your PAN or tax number so long as the money is paid to the car dealership by your bank. I could not buy a car with my money going from my Bank Accounts to Car dealership accounts. It made me miserable. I had to ask my relative to buy the car in his name so I could drive there. Never share your TIN or National Insurance number with anyone except your accountant. NRI, on their visit to India, can buy SIM cards for mobile phones only while inside the airport, and once you are outside, NRI needs an Aadhar Card to buy SIM cards.

The NRI person will not get an Aadhar card. My experience: A NRI can can apply for Aadhar card if he has stayed for more than 182 days (6 months) in India. This I did through the correct agency successfully. The application was accepted. I checked for the issue of the card every month. Six months later, still living in India I did not get a card. There was no response from the application processing office, either in the web site or from the agency itself.So, it is a foolish idea.

I have account Nro & NRI account. In bank of Baroda. 12 year I went to India and go to bank to deposit some money they asking to do many forms to fill up. asking passport copy. Arrival date copy. BCS your account cease. For to do activate you have do so and so. You go three or four times then they say you get your check book and letter in your Indian address. It's after four five weeks no answer. And time come to go back . Our money but use less. So I stop to go in bank And not doing any transfer money in bank f

It's not legal to take adhar card by Citizens of other nations by any means. If you are a non resident but a citizen of india ,you can .
