Mine had a bunch of clear in the slots too. I just spun the bolts in the slots with a drill and it cut exactly how much I needed. I dropped more hex keys than I want to admit inside the bumper while tightening it onto the bumper.

Hey man, first thanks for all of these videos. I am in the middle of a build and they are super helpful. Did you ever make a video about getting that airbag cover off and back into the dash? I just got mine removed today. Thanks!
@joshc10175 күн бұрын
I did make a video for that but it looks like I never posted it. I’ll dig through the footage to see if I can find it. In short, you can slide the cover off of the airbag and use silicone or caulk to glue it in from the back.

Hi,Josh when you rotate the coupler to find the less round out you have to torque the bolts every time you change the rotation?

About fuel load. I know the C5 pulls fuel from the right tank first until empty, then starts pulling from the left tank. Do you think this would make a significant difference during the balance weighing whether half or full? 9 gal of gas is around 60 lbs.
@joshc10172 ай бұрын
Yes, 60 lbs makes a difference and the right rear wheel is light at 1/2 tank (from a cross weight perspective). Some folks like to bring the car in close to empty at the end of a race and calculate the amount of gas they need to have in each race. That stresses me out, so I prefer to start full. In either case, weight distribution is changing as you consume fuel, so you’re either starting closer to 50/50 or finishing that way, assuming you’re running 30-40 minute sprint races.
@fullmetalracingesports31692 ай бұрын
Damn, dude in front at 8:44 practically parked it on the apex. What was the car doing before you lowered the rear 1/2" and how did lowering it help? Thanks Josh!!
@joshc10172 ай бұрын
Yeah, I really wasn’t expecting to reel him in like that, even with the different lines we were taking through 1 and 2. Before lowering the rear, the car was more twitchy under braking and wanted to rotate too much when trail breaking. With the back wanting to step out at turn entry, it was hard to get power down early.

Nice work. Did you re use the factory upper shroud? I’m thinking of deleting mine not sure if it will affect the cooling.
@joshc10172 ай бұрын
Yes, I used the factory upper shroud. I’ve seen one racer make his own shroud and use silicone to get a tighter seal and force all air through the radiator. He also removed the factory fans and replaced them with a 14” fan to keep it cool enough at idle in the pits but allow more air through at speed. His coolant temps run lower, so I’m putting that (replacing fans) on my list as something to try.
