Minimum is 1 hour but if it’s overnight then I’ll make sure it doesn’t stay in longer than 6 hours to avoid moisture overload.

Hey lovely. Yes, in my experience I noticed that when I braid my hair without scratching it I experience more breakage and tangles during the taking down process. So in order to reduce the breakage and tangles I make sure i stretch it before putting it in a protective style.

Around 4 years now. I have colored my hair at some point and I had to transition again so that my natural hair colour can show completely that’s why. But other wise I’ve been natural so 11 years.

No I don’t. I start detangling from the roots because I have noticed that when you start from the tips it exposes my ends to more breakage that usual. Starting from the tips would mean having to make multiple passes on my ends which could lead to more breakage. At least that my two sense 😂😂😂😂

I wash it out first before applying the leave in conditioner.

All of my life really. When I became natural I was already familiar with tresemme I just changed the way I was using the products.

I have never tried any sulphate free shampoos. When I do try it I will post a video

When I want to do protective styles and also when am trying to trim my hair. Trimming depends on how my hair is feeling. If it’s breaking more and if I have a lot single strand knots.

I only wash out the conditioner, for leave in conditioner it stays on my hair.

It’s just to stretch it really. I try to avoid shrinkage as much as I can because shrinkage causes tangles that lead to breakage.

Firstly I rinse my hair out with warm water When I am shampooing I use the pads of my fingers to remove the dirt that’s on my scalp. I also shampoo my hair twice, the first time focusing on my scalp and the the other removing any build up on my actual hair strands. I use my conditioner and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. It depends on how king I will take to shadower because I usually wash my hair right before I take a shower. I then apply my deep conditioner and let is sit overnight. And no it does have to stay in over night an hour or two is okay. Just figure out the best time frame for your hair. I then wear a plastic bag and head wraps to trap more heat so the product better penetrates through my hair.

I use my diy whipped shea butter and castor oil. I sometimes use both, and on some occasions I use either one.

@QueenNaturelle ok thanks I had been using rose water to moisturize then Argan oil. Still having dry hair problems

I think Aegean oil may be too thin to seal your hair or perhaps the moisture wasn’t penetrating through.

Do you know your hair porosity though?

Do you use a detangler when you are tangling your hair? Like a hair conditioner?
