Perfect soundtrack to absolutely anyfuckingthing. Perfect field show for whateverdamnreason as well as dontneedamuffuckinreason. All these years later…still a band nerd @ heart here. Love DCI, love drum corps, miss it all…would probably sell my soul to go back & do it all again.

I'm probably the least qualified person to comment on the overall evolution of DCI, but I have a feeling that people were too hard on this show back in the day, and even now. Cavs were really trying something new and different here, and they suffered for it.

This is the best Cavaliers hornline ever imo. One of the best of all time, period. Their sound is just so pure and so balanced. Usually, when you think Cavies, you think visuals and battery. And both are obviously world class here. But that hornline is what got them that 99.15.

Great music, horrible design. Not on the performers. This was the metaphorical nail on the coffin that the cavs have not been able to get out of yet.

This show is my guilty pleasure because it's so ahead of its time (think about how Ink had a dance break in 2015) And has all of this talent. An amazing hornline, a killer percussion section, ESPECIALLY that front ensemble. And there's some brief moments of "wow that's almost cool" but man it SUCKS (alumnus 2017-2019). I'll watch it every year though over and over again.

A pagan ritual in which a virgin dances to their death. But this time with jazz!
@EmbersofDecember
@EmbersofDecember 4 ай бұрын
The re:Rite of Spring is based almost entirely off of the ballet of the same name, “The Rite of Spring”. In homage to the 100th anniversary of the ballet’s premier, the Blue Devils brought the Rite to the field for their 2013 season. The ballet centers largely on the pagan rituals regarding the return of spring, the renewal of the earth, and the sacrifice of a young woman, destined to dance herself to death. The ballet drew heavy criticism at its Paris premier for its controversial subject matter and avant-garde approach to orchestration and choreography. As such, it remains one of the most infamous works of art ever created. However, it has become synonymous with the style of early 20th century composers and paved the way for the even more experimental and nontraditional approaches of music and story telling.

Repeating this show in '24 would be much more likely for them to make top 12 instead of whatever it is they're trying to pull off now. There was a reason it was called "A Drum Corps Fans Dream."

this show is awesome but so is contemporary drum corps! madison looks like a lock for finals after a 6 year absence and it seems like they've finally rediscovered the madison sound. judging has changed and that's okay! try being appreciative of the kids working hard to bring madison back to finals
