At least here in Finland we may have several DC "fast" chargers in a row touted to have capacity of 250kW, but the whole cluster of chargers max being say 400kW; so come the second and third car charging at the same time and your charging throughput time drops substantially, even if you preconded😂

after charging you have a range of 191 miles, what is your real range? Highway/city
@WilmingtonEV3 күн бұрын
It's been my experience owning an EV that range will depend on the mkwh or watts per mile. In spring, summer, fall i am getting over 3 mkwh in the winter I am getting less than 3 mkwh. When driving long distances I am getting about 2.5 mkwh. With a 77 4 kw hv battery the range will cary greatly on driving aggressiveness, weather conditions, speed on road trips. I have other videos of radio trips in you wanted to see range.

I have a white GT over here in England. Similar problem but my dealer checked on the official Kia website and mine is NOT listed as needing the ICCU update. My searches told me that the Kia Connect app can cause 12v battery draining, especially if you set the app to notify you of charge situation and unlocked situation etc etc. The dealers chief tech guy suggested that deleting the Kia Connect app and reinstalling it can clear a problem. Another 'cure' is to set the Kia Connect app to 'OFFLINE', which stops it reporting, and thus reduces the battery drain. I did this and so far no further problems. I do have a multi stage trickle charger in the car, and it is quite simple to plug it into the external VTL socket, which doesn't need the car to 'start' to get power, and to do a short 12v boost - it went from 1 bar to 3 bars in 15 mins.

The car is under warranty but how many times will they “fix” the issue without fixing it. It’s probably more serious than a battery replacement or software update . Could be a short somewhere. Customers don’t have time to go in and out continuously. I remember bringing in my BMW i3 back in 2015 and they kept it 3 months trying to fix it in there garage! Finally I got a lawyer to nix the whole deal after the first year of ownership as it had spent 5 of the 12 months at BMW . This is probably a much easier fix but be vigilant if it continues. The first clause in any car lease/sale contract is that they supply you with a running car not one that spends its time in there garage. Good luck to you. I am now having second thoughts in buying an 2024 ev6 Gt even discounted 9k new!

My Ioniq 5 died a few times and used my portable 12v jump pack to get going. My12v was under warranty but dealer had none in stock so went to Costco and purchased an H5 AGM, much better battery and warranty. Have had no issues since. Side note, my Hyundai app kept sending messages to my phone if the door was not locked, think this could hav contributed to running my 12v down to8.8v thus notable to start the car. Good luck with this.

Kia does seem to be cheap. They designed the hell out of the EV6 and they scored big! But again, Kia is cheap about certain things. Also, Kia service and oftentimes customer service sucks real bad. I am starting to think that all EV6 owners with the exception of new 2025s should just go on and preemptively replace their 12 volt battery with a good ass DieHard platinum AGM when they hit that one year mark to be on the safe side. Hopefully, this ICCU issue will eventually get solved. I go in for the ICCU recall update in a couple days. I guess as long as Kia is paying for it, I have no issue although it’s a little annoying. My hope is that this update won’t cause any problems. I know it needs to be done though.

Great video! As someone shopping for an EV, videos like these give me great overview of what it would be like owning one. (Not related to the video itself: phones have this feature called "zoom-in mic", turn it off. It tries to zoom the mics when you zoom in the video, which works like magic if the sound source is what you're filming. But here it's not - here it's your voice, which is behind the camera. Turn this feature off and you won't sound muffled when you zoom in.)

They just announced a 2nd recall (ref id SC327)for the ICCU problem that is the root cause - it's common to all the Kia/Hyundai EVs sharing that platform. Customers have joined a class-action lawsuit for this very common issue.

After my recent ICCU update issues did charge at my full 40amp out of my Emporia Level 2 charge and 100% and had no issues. It could be because it's colder or something with the ICCU software update. As of right now it's taking all the power my charge can put out.

The escalated it to KIA USA and the. Ran a bunch of other test. Now we are I to the weekend approaching 7 days. They finally got permission from kia to replace 12v. Not sure is update and new batter fixed the issues or they just put a bandage on the problem. All good for now
