Notice that the power up carrier looks like a superbike heading towards you (even though it's actually a ship). The blue part is the 'front tyre'.

I remember when I first passed it. Was so proud of myself, then my friend wanted to borrow it but I misplaced it. He ended up just buying it. I bought another copy as well. Then my family moved and I packed it away. It wasn't until a few years after moving that I found my original copy. But then couldn't find the one I bought. Finally I discovered it in my closet unopened and brand new about 5 months ago. I still have it unopened. That copy was purchased in late 1998

The behaviour between evasions and lock-ons seems unnatural - the reaction time is applied right on the spot without hesitation or an earlier preparation. I'm ready to bet on my observation experience that this is tool-assisted.

Gunhed is so excellent. 1989 Compile Pcengine masterpiece. Great playthrough!

I own this one. Not so hard really. Hell the hardest thing about this game is the ost. It blows. I always played with the music off. This was around the time when SHMUPS was losing its way with an ass kicking soundbtracks. Not gonna lie, my heart was breaking when i noticed the changes in shmups approach to sound tracks. Now its all dance and techno.

I love the fact that what set of music will be playing depends the first map (Map 02) that you chose. So you don't get the same music on every playthrough.

Now HERE is a playthough I really like. Not only did the player get all the S bonuses (well, most of them. He missed the S bonus on the 2nd mid-stage boss by not destroying enough ceiling vehicles,) not only did they not go out of their way to not destroy some targets, but they made use of the Wasp gun pod to attack targets in the background. Love it.

This game is a 10 when it released in 1989. Great graphics no slowdown, perfect controls, good music, good sound effects, and a good balance difficulty.
