Always remember to pull the speed sender unit, and check the fluid level on these differentials, or you will be replacing your differential as well. Oil change places do not know to do this fluid level check... This fix is still on the road, and had no problems as far as I was informed. No complaints!

Friend, Those are tinned copper bus bars. I know you said you scratched “deep into them” which isn’t a scientific measurement to begin with. If you are a professional electrician you can tell the difference between an aluminum bar (very matte and unpolished, sometimes very flimsy to where you can bend it easily with your pliers) the tinned copper is very shiny and the fins are quite stiff in comparison.

I just switch from a Siemens panel offer to Eaton for this same reason. However I was told that the Siemens is aluminum bar vs Eaton’s copper bus bar. But when I looked up this panel it specs as Copper with tin plating. Can you show a photo of where you cut into the bus bar. It sounds like you got screwed. But if you didn’t push for a refund or verified copper bus bar panel why would you install it. I would take it out, cut it up and send it back with photos posted on social media. Save pieces in case they drag you to court.

Before or after? You can do a quick test before and after charging. If the quick test shows low on a battery that should be charged you can drain it before you charge it. That does a pretty good refresh and will help the battery come back. I do it faster with a 1 battery flashlight though.

I just use it for light auto repair. I have used it for strut replacement already. there is enough room. The screws will NEVER let go. If you use deck screws and deep wood you could not pull it out with a truck!

Yeah, stationary bolt came loose. Easy fix if you can do it. Lag it in to the table when you're done. Looks like you've already got your pilot holes...

Lol, they are plated to reduce oxidation. I don't care how deep you think you scratched. There's copper underneath. Install looks terrible, by the way. In my opinion.

I have the same vise...used heavily for well over 20 years. Take it apart... It's easy and you can fix some shortcomings. E.g., I swapped the rotation clamping bolts with the flimsy built in Tommy bars for M10 bolts with 17mm heads. I always have a 17 nearby and it works for me. Maybe a socket head bolt and an Allen key would work better for others...? Every few years I take mine apart and clean/lube with a high moly grease. On the other hand, if yours is broken and not easily fixed, id scrap it.

Will it screw in and clamp tight after you slide it open? I have a vice that you slide out to the desired width and then just a couple turns and it’s tight. It’s really much faster and easier than a conventional vice.

I have been holding down my vises that way for decades and NEVER had a single failure! As long as your wood is deep enough for a 2.5 in screw, it will always hold! Way easier than drilling and bolting! Try it if yours is over wood. You won't break it loose!

It is actually VERY strong. There is no easier or faster way to attach one to wood. I have been attaching them that way for decades! The screws never fail. :-) I am 250lbs, and I have put huge force on them and have continued to hold even 10 years later.

The bars are stamped CU in multiple places. The plating helps with heat dissipation and helps the load center to operate cooler and more efficiently.
