Not a fan of S1, but giving S2 a shot just to watch D's reactions and listen to his outros. Agree, s2e1 was solid. The ensemble of English actors are impressive, particularly the men. The elf king operatic ballad was so freakin' good.

I'm not a James Gunn fan. I hated GOTG tho I did end up loving Rockets story in Vol 3. Also, sorry but Suicide Squad sucked. So I wasn't thrilled by this teaser. I like some elements of it like Krypto and John Williams Superman theme playing. The suit looks baggy and cheap. Of all the Green Lanterns they could have used, they chose Captain Bowlcut! I hope I'm wrong and I end up loving it, but this trailer didn't wow me.

The first reactor to catch the voice of the boy calling out "Superman" gradually condescending to a chorus of chant from the crowd. Always super introspection from Derek.

I wanted to wait a week between episodes so I couldn't watch your reaction until now. But I'm glad to see you covering this and that you're enjoying it as much as I am! Personally I liked how the first episode ends when they enter hyperspace. It was the perfect spot for a chapter-break, as it gave me a chance to reflect on what we saw of the kids' lives on the planet they just left, and had me wondering where they might end up next. You mentioned needing to watch 80+ hours of the Star Wars franchise to get up to speed but I disagree. I think they made this to cater for new audiences as much as possible. I've only ever seen the original 3 Star Wars films, and since - as you pointed out - this takes place after Return of the Jedi, I'm not finding myself lost at all. I did check beforehand to see if the show requires any knowledge of the universe past those 3 films and it seems the writers have restricted themselves to only including minor easter eggs or callbacks from more recent productions. I don't mind missing out on those but I did pick up on some of them... I must have seen clips of Episode I at some point as I also recognised the "that's wizard" phrase. I loved the addition of the wolfman race (among others) from the cantina in Episode IV, and I have to agree the performers in that holographic display did seem reminiscent of what I know of the holiday special. I've long fantasized about having my own spaceship to zoom around and explore the galaxy with, so as you can imagine I quickly fell in love with this show and I, too hope to see it continue for many more seasons! And if they ever release it on physical media that'll be an insta-buy from me.

"Krypto, home! Take me home!" This movie feels like it will take me home to the Superman of my boyhood.

Watched the trailer a few times in case I missed something, and I'm just not getting it. Looks like it'll be a good movie, but I'm not picking up the inspirational hope everyone else is. It's just another re-telling of a story we have seen portrayed many times before. It looks a little too busy, but I'll give it a chance when it comes out.

The sense of hope and optimism this teaser conveys - and the updated version of the John Williams theme which took me straight back to being 11 and seeing SUPERMAN THE MOVIE in the cinema with my dad in 1978 (who died when I was 23). That’s when I started to cry - and then we get Krypto and Green Lantern and Hawkgirl, and it’s so bright and colourful like the Silver Age comics instead of gritty and grim and drab! I loved it. I’ve been so over 99% superhero movies for several years, but this teaser has me feeling hopeful again.

I'm hyped that we are getting more comic book accurate characters in live action on film . Gives me hope that more DC characters will be too. Maybe we'll even see white eyes on Batman + get to see his heart too like in BTAS.

I loved this trailer it gave me so much hope 😅 that this movie will be good, you can see the difference between Clark and Supes, the mannerisms and the dorkiness so it might be convincing the dual persona. And the fact that we see so many other superheroes just solidifies what James Gunn said that this world is a comic book world where other heroes are already established, Superman won’t be the “first” hero but he will change the way we view them
