So basicaly you need a tractor/back hoe.....thats pretty much all that was.

Thank you for the entertaining and insightful video. I wonder if there's a ram out there that has a long stroke, but two little fingers that stick off the side to spread things apart. You might also look at Hydraulic felling wedges.

I honestly haven't hunted in years. I don't enjoy combat hunting. I used to spend the entire archery season in the Starkey Unit..... weekends would get busy, and then it would clear out during the week for the most part. Trendiness ruined hunting.

Do you have any before and after pictures? Some arborists are saying this does not work and the trunk will just go back to its curvy shape once the stakes are removed.

Another reason for a curved cut is sharpening the chain too much on one side. To fox the issue, sharpen more on the side that is in the direction of the curve. This issue can happen with hand sharpening the chain with a file.

Someone commented that the bar on my saw was upside down. So I had to explain about rotating the bar.
@BrucePierson22 күн бұрын
You want to be careful running your finger down the bar like that. If the edge is burred, you can easily cut your finger.

Noticed your educational video didn’t use hearing or eye protection. The wedges were totally worthless when you have a tractor with a backhoe. And get yourself a full length handle sledge hammer.

I found a trick that seems to help with this approach: Digging the dirt, rocks and the like is a lot of work and is tedious. What I tried is a really good power washer, 4,000 psi and 4.2 GPM. I used it to blast as much of the dirt and related stuff that ruins chains. Then I let it dry for a couple of days. After that I was able to cut the stump low enough so that my riding mower could go over it without issue. My chain lasted for 10 stumps, averaging 24" diameter. Without the power wash step, I had to sharpen the chain after a single stump. BTW, these were pine and fir trees.
@user-ox6nc6ly7fАй бұрын
before grinding your bar, look carefully at your chain. teeth may be softer on right side, they dull faster so it cut better to the left. it's a manufacturing defect. left and right teeth aren't hardened together, they are made on a different line. oven temperature, heating time, quenching bath temperature, Monday morning, Friday afternoon. ... slightly different adjustments = slightly different hardness. easier to see on a full chisel chain. compare how dull is the corner from left to right.

The atom splitter screw log splitter on your tractors auger would wedge those stumps apart in seconds. With or without the chain saw cuts. I've done it!
