As a Christian Man in his 30s, who is part of a men's group at his church and has a Christian fiance, the 2 biggest problem with Christian girls is that certain Christian girls only want to talk about the Bible and and Christian girls live at church. The first one is simple, when you meet a Christian girl that only talks about Jesus it's not a relationship built on communication but some lady who is obsessed with living in Bible Camp 24/7. The simple fact is men don't want to talk about Jesus 24/7; they want to communicate with you about hobbies and common interests (usually that category is books and movies and food) to build the relationship. Talking about the Bible is fine, having a Bible study with a girl you like is fine, but it shouldn't be the bedrock of the relationship. A man does not enjoy being given a Bible verse to correct his behavior and when a man reciprocates a bible quote to her for her behavior, a woman says that they are getting gas lighting thrown at them. The second problem is that Christian girls live their life through church. Certain Church women go to church on Sunday, but they also: go their early to set up the church, they are women that are always at Bible study or they are part of the Dance Ministry or they are part of the women's group or they're part of the teen group, and they go to all the church events. And when these Church girls meet a guy that just wants to go to church on Sunday they can't understand that. They don't understand that a guy may be tired emotionally or physically from working 40 to 60 hours a week. And then you have to deal with the fact that you have to also shop for groceries, do laundry, fix the car if that's a problem, do lawn work, visit relatives or call relatives, clean the apartment or house, and decompress from the previous work week. Christian girls struggle with the idea that their boyfriend doesn't go to church as much as them or is not involved in the church community and they get upset by that because they see all their friends and mentors at church and they think that their boyfriend should be held to that same standard of attendance...and it only repels men.

My situation is somewhat unique, it seems. I'm 16, almost 17 at the moment, and I've never considered dating as an option. I never cared about finding someone or getting into a relationship. I don't mean that there were never girls that I liked and was interested in, but I just didn't think I needed to pursue a relationship or anything. Recently, I've developed feelings for this girl. We've known each other for a few years now, and I never saw her as anything more than a friend until recently. Ever since I started feeling this way about her, my life has drastically changed. I've given up on a lot of the negative impacts in my life such as addiction, chronic online activity, lack of exercise, a VERY stagnant faith, and much more. I've started focusing more on what grows me as a person, the things I enjoy, and the things that will put me in a place to one day, hopefully, love her from a selfless, Christ-centered standpoint. It seems to me, and people I've talked to about it have confirmed this to some extent, that I'm relatively mature and wise for my age. I'm aware that I'm not in the perfect place to start anything, so I'm waiting. Until then, I'll simply be living my life devoted to building myself up and getting to a place that, I believe, will allow for something more to take place down the road. It's often said that you're never ready for something until you realize that it isn't as great as you thought it was, and I think that holds some truth. I sincerely believe that you don't need to try and find someone, God will put someone in your life for you. Simply take a step back and focus on Him and yourself, and once you've figured that out you'll be prepared to take someone along with you. Also, just remember that love isn't about you. Your goal should never be to get something out of it, but rather to give everything up for the other person. Jesus set the perfect example of this, so follow it. There's no greater love than that.

This is a good point. I would also add that, just as God cares about our “little” sins, He also cares to answer “little” prayers. I love noticing how God is working in my life, each and every day, both in seemingly small ways, but also in large ways.
