About the animal abuse, there was actually a video of jimbo abusing his cat, Loki, in the doc along with one of his friends reacting to the video and responding to it. I myself did not click on the link, but others did and it’s honestly pretty disgusting that he unironically thought that that was an okay thing to do.

Fr i find Ketelin’s actions very disgusting, she is using very serious themes in her videos and romanticizing: abuse, incest, torture etc. And i find it really disturbing how she does have a very young audience who are exposed to this types of content, and then she blames them for this!? She started everything with her own videos. I also hate the fact she ships Rush and Ambush who are canonically siblings in the Roblox DOORS wiki and also Rush was confirmed to be aroace by the creator of DOORS themselves, i feel very bad for LSPLASH (Creator of DOORS) since Ketelin is using DOORS characters and doing this type of content with them, i hope Ketelin thinks about her actions and stops doing this or atleast puts an age restriction to her videos and block little kids.

I think the issues that come with the AMC come from these 2 things: 1- The biggest one: This is a space that is both inhabited by minors and adults. While any fandom can have members of any age regardless of content, I think the AMC is unique in that there aren't any dominant ages, unlike say MLP that is a primarily kids show that just so happens to have adult bronies here and there. This blurs the lines, adults may think XYZ is appropriate when it really isn't, and children and adults have easy unfiltered access to each other. I personally want to make more animation memes, but don't want to attract minors to my content, and there's really not much I can do about this. 2- Purity testing: There has ALWAYS been drama in the AMC (or at least since 2015, the time I joined), anyone who talks about how great the past was is either too young to remember old drama, or is being clouded by nostalgia. HOWEVER, I will say that drama has gotten worse IMO. I think people here are too trigger happy to deplatform 'problematic' artists, which I think is a side-effect of people here being young and the pandemic forcing us online for extended periods (socially we've never recovered). I'm not naming specific instances but there have been times I see people call out XYZ animator and thought 'this is what you are mad about?' or 'can't you sort this out between yourselves?' If being merely careless is enough to get your audience to turn on you, it discourages people from being genuine and creating.

As someone who’s been in the animation meme community since I was maybe 9 years old. I’m 18 now and when I try to still join into the animation meme community today, it doesn’t feel the same. There’s either drama, openly disgusting not very family friendly animation memes without warnings most times and those who think they are better than other animators and scaring beginner animators away. Animation memes were supposed to be for fun, to practice, to mess around and be silly. Not to bully people off of the internet man.

I think one of the biggest issues I see with the AMC community is that its a community primarily composed of minors and has been that way since the beginning. Issue being that most of the people around or in the so called "drama" are children. The people covering the "drama" are children. Sometimes, the people at the center of the "drama" are children (i.e. when sashley was younger or birdie was younger). Being on the internet from such a young age and growing up in a community that was heavily sexualized in it's early years probably has a lot too do with why so many of these creators are being called out. Look at some of the most prominent figures back in the day (Seelmaru, TheGreatRouge, Kittydog) or some of the popular memes that were going around (I got it from my daddy, Bikini Body, the Gambino meme) and you'll see examples of extremely sexual content that was very popular among minor audiences. There's a great video by Streamline Workshop that shows several screencaps of minors literally being groomed into thinking things like pedophilia and noncon are acceptable (TheGreatRouge video if anyone wants to know). Like from the beginning the AMC community was messed up. Personally I'm not surprised so many people are being "called out". My biggest issue right now is the way the community handles it. Another video I watched does a great job of explaining it, but ultimately we do not need fifty minors making videos on one person repeating the same information with nothing new to add. To be somewhat controversial, I don't think anyone should be talking about the situation publicly if they were not actually in it in the first place and even then it shouldn't be sensationalized. I understand the sentiment of wanting to deplatform someone you think is bad for your community; I say what I say because I believe a lot of the terms that we throw around (most notably grooming allegations but I've seen people use pedophile out of turn as well) have lost their meaning and worth in weight because they're being used and misconstrued by people who literally have not done their research. Another qualm I have with most of the call out videos I see on this platform is that they're very quick to latch onto anything that might be somewhat problematic. I saw people dogging on Pastarru not just because of the way they talked around minors, but for their inability to draw multiple body types??? I shouldn't have to explain that regardless of the size of an artist's platform, they NEVER have an obligation to do that. I don't think call out videos are made for the right reason, they turn into a giant dump of content creators using a popular creators name to reiterate the same thing everyone else is saying to what end? What I think people SHOULD be making videos on is the root of the problem, where the community came from and how it's biting the AMC community's ass now. I'm not surprised so many people are being called out, to be completely frank I think it's very representative of a big problem a good chunk of the AMC community may struggle with: minors being in spaces minors shouldn't be in and growing into adults that think it's okay to act a certain way because they were raised by a community that talked that way to them when they were minors. But that's just me. I think everyone has a shit ton of growing to do outside of the internet and I think a lot of us probably need to start going outside more and make some friends. I only said all this because I don't really see anyone else saying it and it's getting exhausting seeing people miss the mark. Or at the very least not addressing the mark.

This video hits too close to home. I used to watch cringe compilations (and read comments there, that's important) a lot as a kid and they absolutely ruined my perception of my own art. To this day I hate myself whenever I draw something that doesn't match the unrealistic standard that those have created in my mind. And I'm an adult now for hells sake. Sorry if this comment is poorly constructed, I don't know how to write properly.

first of all im very thankful that you made this video. its been such a massive issue in the community and boy do we have work to do. the way you handled this video is really respectful and insightful, though itd be nice if you had trigger warnings at the start of the video to look out for everyone watching spreading this video around can really bring out discussion on how to make this a better community, especially digging into its roots on what happened in the earlier days that left an impact on the community. i actually forgot about the cringe compilations but its surprisingly a relevant topic, and im glad you brought that and everything else up a lot of the content creators should take the warnings on this video seriously because well,, its our community; our responsibility to make this a safer place for people to express themselves- which is what this community is all about. maybe you could do a video more on the perspective of someone who has a big following and what we could do ( especially for the older folk ) to make this community better and safer? you arent obligated to ofc but id like a video like that to come around for us our people deserve better p.s. i absolutely adore your art style!

it's kind of odd to blame something on just one single person. while I do agree birdie has been involved in a lot of the damage, it isn't entirely on him. many of such cases are correlated *to* him and that's an important distinction to be made it's overall us as a community and the irresponsibility and unaccountability, especially upon the younger people in the community it's us as a community to get our fucking shit together and lead by example on being better people

@@grey_cybernetix.1299 Doesn't help that Birdie's lore begins when he was 13 years old being on the internet. All those dramas and the things ppl know him for when he was a minor being harassed and him lashing out back. But currently, Birdie isn't exactly doing what's best for himself still. He's still doing questionable things. I do agree that the community needs an overall change. We need more ppl leading by example and having ppl being held accountable but doing the second gets complicated cause ppl have different ideas of what that looks like or some just hate that person and the internet can take that to the extremes.

@@vaporean_boylove.0w083 I agree! it's all a matter of case to case judgement. subjective views aren't necessarily something that needs changing so long as it doesn't get to extremes or a subject to harassment like you mentioned it fucking sucks we find ourselves here honestly but at least we can do things to make it better, big or small effort
