Well done! I went from GH2 all the way to GH5. Then switched to S5. Now I want to sell that and go to GH7 plus the 10-25mm and 25-50mm f/1.7 zooms. One BIG reason nobody talks about is external time code through the flash sync port. None of the S5 cameras have that.

That could definitely be a factor but the delay is usually not that long so I’m assuming it compounds

I would say shoot in log in any of the all intra codecs into an SSD! I only shoot into and SSD because those files are huge but worth it

@@cesarlorca_ Buy beyerdynamics 770 (better for recording or noisy environnement) or 990 (open back better for mixing but you can ear noise around you) youll have better audio everytime, Its like color grading with a bad monitor.

I've had mine for a little over a year. Great camera. I use it for run n gun travel videos. Stabilization is perfect. I shoot everything exclusively handheld, I don't carry any stabilizers or a tripod with me. I combined my S5IIx into a rig with Blackmagic VideoAssist and SmallRig V-mount batteries. BRAW is wonderful to work with in DaVinci.

I also like to shoot exclusively handheld with it, even though I still have my crane 4 combo leftover from my old BMPCC 6k setup… I find myself unrigging it all the time just to use it regular lol I have the video assist 7” HDR 12g , smallrig vmount battery plate, side handle and top handle and find it’s amazing when shooting raw but since I’m always unrigging it I got 2 512gb v30 cards for 15 bucks and have started shooting in the long gop codec to keep it even more incognito

regarding 32 bit float audio , it will absolutely raise the noise floor if your gain is too low , it also depends on the microphone , some have better SNR then others . also the microphone still has physical and electronic limitations as to how much you can push its gain , so even with 32 bit float audio you should set your gain correctly and just don't worry about peaking and distortion but don't go nuts with the setting ..

Yes true but the digital gain applied in post does not introduce any of noise. It's just raising the level of noise that already exists from improper analog gain stage, bad mic placement poor quality cheap ass mics and general ambient noise. In other words - the noise is already there so we still need to know what the hell we are doing. I believe future audio capture devices will be totally idiot proof with no controls or metering at all thanks to 32 bit technology.

Nobody knows about this but the majority of the sounds are from a sound effect pack I’ve been working on man 👀 should be releasing in a couple of weeks For some of the filler sounds I’d say around 2 hours to find the perfect one but like a day or two for final sound design. Maybe like 8-16 hours depending

If you wan't to be honest you have to mention that the autofocus isn't that good in Low light condition. After one month of using it, you should have mentioned that. And also, the ARRI Log isn't available in every country where the GH7 is selling. I bought it, and I'm a little bit disappointed to be honest. Something I've noticed right away is that the buttons on the GH5 feels much better especially the joystick. On the GH7 it feels cheaper.

I’m sorry you feel that way but the majority of the shots in the spec project are in low light conditions and I had no issues 🤷♂️ I love shooting in low light/ high contrast situations so that’s something I always look at I have no idea about the arri log not being available everywhere but that sucks if that’s actually the case. And I found the build to be pretty robust! But your experience is your experience

I've heard some people say the buttons feel cheap and mushy. But once I started using the GH7 I realized everything on it just feels softer. The grip and the buttons. Not mushy or cheap feeling at all IMO. I actually prefer it over the harder feeling buttons of previous Panny models. But preferences will be different for many. As far as autofocus in lowlight... it struggles when the light gets REALLY LOW. As long as some dim lights are still present it performs like a champ. Autofocus in really lowlight is not great on many cameras though.

Hey! I was actually hand held on all those shots and stabilized them in post! I stood as humanly still and used camera lock in Davinci! To get the look it’s a mixture of the the lens, the time of day and grading with Dehancer! I shot the majority of this during golden hour so it had a warm look and I just enhanced it! Hope this helps!!!
