Seen a lot of videos on dehancer but you made it way easier to understand than anybody I’ve seen explain it. Awesome to see another dude from Toronto killing it on KZbin

It looks intimidating at first glance but once you get an idea of each section you’re gonna be flying! Man, I’m from Miami I just spend a lot of time in Toronto hahaha might as well move at this point 🤣

I do for sure! I just wanted to show how far you can get away with just one done with dehancer but on most projects my node tree is more refined

Great Video! The sound design in the opening was epic! But always a bit to much halations. They make this Filmlook a bit more unrealistic, because in real movies aren t often so much halation going on.
@cesarlorca_ Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much for the kind words!! Totally agree about the halation but that was a creative choice on my end… im not gonna lie I cranked it up haha. I may have a halation problem 😵💫🤣 you can definitely customize it to make it subtle but I didn’t in these examples 😔

Thank you for great video 🙌🏼 We got one issue, is that when video is uploaded to KZbin and played on the phone grain is totally not visible and instead the footage looks slightly low quality kinda badly pixelated It’s is so only on phone, at computer it looks nice and grainy as it supposed to look when exported from premiere Did this happen to anyone, and do you have some solution or settings recommendations for that? Thank you!
@cesarlorca_7 ай бұрын
No problem! I’ve noticed that as well on my end. I’ve been experimenting with the different grains to see which one works best for phones! I’ll let you know when I find that answer for you!
@RadFyah7 ай бұрын
@@cesarlorca_ thank you, that would be amazing, also uploading in 4K kinda helps, but it is not really the solution.

Hey new to video and recently got the S5 and free version of davinci resolve. Do you know if the Dehancer plugin is worth it on the free version. I know stuff like grain isn’t on the free one but I think I can do without that. Thank you

SO I have a million and one LUTs and really bought Dehancer for the grain/halation/bloom combo. Is it possible to kill the opacity on their built in LUTs/looks?
@cesarlorca_11 ай бұрын
Yes you can! Just go to the film tab and clip the check box where it says enable and it should take it off!

Or, you could just maybe use an old video camera and shoot the footage you want to look like film? 😂 Honestly bro, I don't know why you don't have more subs. Great presentations and you don't stick to the subject matter. Great stuff.

They spent many years actually scanning and emulating their looks from actual film stocks! So they are true to the actual film stocks! They talk about it on their website and its actually a pretty wild process!
@ThatGuyOverThereWeird Жыл бұрын
sorry but the fake grain look is terrible. doesn't add anything to the image other than give pixel peepers nostalgia because they couldn't afford film stock back in 1999 and were forced to shoot on 720p video
@cesarlorca_11 ай бұрын
Sorry you feel that way buddy 😞
@JJ_Khailha11 ай бұрын
I hear what Jeff is saying. For me the grain needs to be very subtle. If I notice it then it breaks the immersion. Fortunately Dehancer has plenty of settings to fine tune it.
@cesarlorca_11 ай бұрын
@@JJ_Khailha Agreed but there are better ways to say it. For example how you commented is productive and not demeaning. Thanks for taking the time to watch the video!
@Diminish1211 ай бұрын
Bro don't listen to this clown with a Bozo comment. Grain does give the image a more organic effect, it's constantly done in the industry.

I completely disagree however videography is an art and not everyone is going to love what you do however when you don’t like something and have nothing good to say it’s always best to say nothing. Especially if you aren’t giving advice
