Yes! Exactly what I need I have a dolls house that I want to redecorate in various themes etc over the next year or so Struggled to find how to decorate in a removable way - thank you so much!
@cjolley33417 ай бұрын
Rubber cement is the ULTIMATE tool if you want to be able to remove the wallpaper. Do a thin coat on the surface you want to apply it to and let it dry completely. Then do the same with the back of your wallpaper. You can now stick the wallpaper on with a good strong hold and remove it later without the fuss. You’re welcome.

I never thought of using double sided tape. I’m trying to plan what I’m going to do with my dollhouse. I thought I would glue it in, perhaps even modge podging it.
@ChelseaRingland8 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for this idea!! I was trying and failing to scrape my dolls house wallpaper off dry, I thought I would have to get messy with solvents and vinegar, I had no idea you could do it with just water and a sponge!! (may have been an obvious thought for some lol) My dolls house is now stripped bare inside and out and ready for painting!

It works really well if you make sure that the backing board is stiff enough to hold its shape. IF it's too thin it can bend!
I plan on doing this for my floors as well so that everything can be removed (especially to access wiring). You mentioned adding moulding; how do you plan on affixing that to the wall so that you can still change it out if/when you need to? That's what I'm trying to decide before moving forward with my project.
@decoratesmall10 ай бұрын
I was just going to glue it in place, then rip it out if I needed to. But if you had some kind of flooring that was thick enough, like thin mat board, you could put the molding in slightly above the floor level and slide the floor under it so that the molding would form a little groove that the floor could slide into, if that makes sense. I don't know if that would work long-term but it's worth a try.
@jojothehobo1234510 ай бұрын
@@decoratesmall I think that’s a great idea! I suppose woodwork would be durable enough to take off the wallpaper boards if you ever wanted to change the wallpaper and reuse the moulding. Thanks for your reply :)

This is exactly what i plan to do for both walls AND floors in my big victorian. That way i dont have to wire right now and when i do, i can easily move or fix things later. As well as, of course, being able to redecorate.

I take a piece of printing paper and push it on a wall and make good creases along the top and sides, etc. Then I cut on my paper cutter ( the one with an arm ). Then I have an exact size to use for whatever I am applying to the wall. I always use diluted white glue for wallpaper paste, it slides a bit for adjustment. And sometimes I use a glue stick.
@decoratesmall11 ай бұрын
Doesn't the diluted glue wet the paper too much? I would think that would make it buckle.
@kimberlyboydwolfe195611 ай бұрын
@@decoratesmall I don't dilute it much, ( I mix in a small bowI ) paint it on the paper with a sponge brush, then apply to the wall. I use a rag to push it to the wall and get the bubbles out. I have used dollhouse wallpaper, wrapping paper and even fabric, but most are thicker. On occasion I have bubbles, but they shrink as it dries. I have used this application to wooden, cardboard and plastic walls and it has worked okay for me.

Hey Kara! The mitre box saw and frame will become one of your best friends. It's for sawing mostly wood pieces like popsicle sticks and dowling, roof shingles, baseboards, window frames, etc. etc. etc. I have one and I love it! You will too :)

Hi I used this idea on a ¹970s arrow dream house. The two sides tape let go of the wooden walls! Sucked but to replace it wasn't hard. I did tape wire lighting in this house because the wood is so thin and would be fairly easy to remove the entire walls to check the power

I did this using illustration board and a good quality glue stick to apply the wall paper to them template. I also used glue stick to apply template to the wall. Five years later it is still good as new.

When I find myself in Richmond, i will check it out.I'm more of a paper crafter. Just decided to renovate my dollhouse that I built 27 years ago and was stored for the last 21. It was damaged during a cross country move. I was going to sell it because we were moving. We are not now. I decided to keep it because I worked 1 year building it. I just caught a couple of your videos that gave me some great inspiration. Thank you.
