Finished playing this game for the first time last night. Just incredible. A lot to digest and I think it's going to be kicking around in my brain for a long while yet, but it was really so good. Can't wait to see how it plays out in the TV series. And it's been such a joy coming here to watch Eric play after I've been playing. For every moment of "I can't believe he missed that bit!" there's been a "I can't believe I didn't see that!" or "I never thought of that!" (for example, it never crossed my mind to let the infected loose on the Rattlers, though clearly it turns out not to always be a good idea!) I don't actually know for sure what the criticism of the game was about, I can take some guesses (some more legitimate than others) but I think in the end my thoughts on the game were very similar to Eric's.

Currently playing this for the first time and just got past this bit today. My heart sank when Eric used his pipe bombs on those clickers in the hospital, knowing what was coming next! Still, I think he managed to defeat that thing in fewer attempts than me.

Enjoying watching this bit by bit as I play the game. I spent a lot more time swimming around underwater (and dying a lot) while looking for that boat. Me: Eric, I can't believe you just missed what was written on the back of that note! Also me: Oh my god, there was a whole entire area I completely went past without noticing!

Only just playing it for the first time now (and really enjoying it so far), I don't often watch gaming streams but I thought I'd have a look at how one of the Blind Wave crew did it up to the point I've reached so far and it's been really interesting. There were quite a few times Eric missed things I saw or experienced but at the same time, there's plenty Eric did that completely passed me by as I've been playing. And the bit in the tunnels was especially interesting, I was getting killed countless times trying to get each and every enemy and didn't even think that I could just dash to the door and into the next room!

In my first playthrough, which was completely blind, I didn't have the points to talk Wrex down. You know when earlier Ashley said she'd protect the Commander? Well, she interrupts the conversation with a bullet and a smug one-liner. So I ended up having no Wrex or Ashley for the rest of the trilogy, on that first playthrough. You never forget your first Virmire.

You got the best ending. I am not sure if this is a popular opinion, but I think they should've stopped here and not made seasons 3 and 4.

It turns out you were actually right about the detective being Black Cat’s dad. I never collected all the paintings but I thought you were onto something when you said that. Then I saw people saying that side mission is worth completing for the story & I just now looked up a video of the ending.

I feel your pain on those mini-gun brutes. They’re annoying as hell considering you can’t web them to the ground, you can’t even stop them from shooting, you have to manually dodge the bullets (pressing ⭕️ will just move you into the line of fire), they take away so much HP, & you have a small window of time to attack before they brush you off again.

The more that i think about it, the more I realise that if this game was the way that people wanted it to be, it would have been terrible. Everything in the plot works together, and if they changed things that some people think would 'fix' the game it would all fall apart. It's not what a lot of people expected sure, but with an open mind this game really resonates with a lot of people too.

Edit: okay in the next part he mentions that hes deaf so that makes sense. On their website he states that he's "half death" does that mean he only hears on one ear or that he just can barely hear anything on both ears? wow it seems like eric plays with almost no audio at all. You can really tell that he doesn't hear the pretty important audio cues when an enemy could spot you. I think in the beginning he turned his tv even further down to lessen the echo that chat was complaining about. i could never play a game almost not hearing anything. Especially in this case, where it adds to the atmosphere and is super important for the gameplay

Im really glad that through Kennys irrationality, bouts of anger and nonsense, Eric still felt a sort of kinship with him. Itll make the second season very interesting to watch eric play.
