​@@RagPen01 @QUWYKXZ no your forced into a relationship no matter what you can't really even talk to ash or Kaiden without getting into a relationship with her or him that is one of the things I had a problem with on this game the game itself just put you in a relationship after talking to them multiple times I know this because I've played the trilogy countless times and tried to talk to my crew normally every time and had to unfortunately be and asshole to them just to end the relationship and I'm not talking about killing them though that is one way had to use renegade dialogue to end the relationship the game gives you no other option I chose ash for multiple playthroughs but once I chose Kaiden I now Rarely save ash he's just develops better as character and is a better character than ash in my opinion ash was also my first romance but not my favorite plus I personally was hoping he would choose Kaiden.

I think being such a massive star wars fan, he's just naturally inclined to the scifi space opera stuff. Which is perfect for ME1, since the gameplay isn't all that great while the lore is so deep.

@@quwykxz That is very plasible, but it may also be psych warfare. The average person talking to an AI dreadnought is going to be so scared that they won't be able to think, they will just listen to everything and get more and more scared. Plus it would be a bad idea to tell you their origins. The galaxy knows nothing about the reapers, even in 3 they only know that they need to die, any intel is potentially good intel. If Shepard learned about the Levithan Intelligence and the rest of the Reapers history to date, they may find their "homeworld" or they may find the worlds where war was waged in the earlier years and may find a way to stop them. All he told Shepard is that there are a bunch of them, they are each an independent AI, and that every piece of the milky way's technology is based on the Reapers technology. These things tell you that you are in big trouble, but it doesn't have enough data to find solutions.

Just so you know. Choosing top or bottom is usually paragon or renegade. Choosing middle gives you nothing.

yeah, but if you're properly roleplaying you just choose what fits that's the problem with paragon/renegade because people get so wrapped up in maximizing points that it ind of takes away the roleplaying element not saying you're telling him to not choose it at all and stop roleplaying like he is because it seems you're just informing him but this is why i feel the middle option is valid personally though i do wish it gave a mixture of paragon and renegade for us paragade players

@@nightfrost1891 Not necessarily true; if you're trying to roleplay as pure Paragon or Renegade, the proper way to play is to ONLY choose your desires attitude inclination, and NEVER choose the neutral one. Besides, the only way to be TRULY neutral is to not play the game at all, so you make no choice at all in the games. So even having the neutral option in the game is kind of dumb and senseless, since a vast portion of the story revolves around your choices, and the only way to be truly neutral is to make no choices, ever.

Yes, because Ash is the weakest Class (pure Soldier), like Eric's Shep, but as a character, Kaidan is boring and annoying, and any skills he has are used much better by any other team mate with the same skill, so he's pretty useless, too, as soon as you assemble your full crew. So, as a character, Ash is LEAGUES above Kaidan, even in the first ME, and she evolves a lot over the trilogy. whereas Kaidan remains as boring and annoying as ever.

I have to disagree. My Ash was a beast in combat! She never died on me during my insanity run, once I got her in some decent heavy armor. I was playing Adept though, so Kaiden was pretty useless to me.

Same, I always skip ahead to the convo with Sovereign and Vigil to see if they draw conclusions, but I have never seen anyone draw as many as him, he heard "I am Soverign" and says "It is a thing", he hears about the Relay and CItadel, he says "We are in a flytrap now" and "THE KEEPERS ARE IN ON IT". Gonna be a blast watching him talk to Vigil.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the whole Wrex thing on Virmire used go be a high paragon/renegade check in the original game right? I specifically remember having to go back several hours to try and save him from getting blasted.

I think it’s because he completed Wrex’s “loyalty” quest, getting the family armor. ( I put quotations because loyalty quests weren’t REALLY a thing in me1 but cmon, the armor, dr heart, and geth data side missions are basically loyalty quests)

In my first playthrough, which was completely blind, I didn't have the points to talk Wrex down. You know when earlier Ashley said she'd protect the Commander? Well, she interrupts the conversation with a bullet and a smug one-liner. So I ended up having no Wrex or Ashley for the rest of the trilogy, on that first playthrough. You never forget your first Virmire.

He survived ONLY once for my many, many playthroughs, just because I wanted to experience every possibility in ME, so one of my FemSheps romanced him. And also because letting him live is the only way to get access to Reave in ME 3 (Samara gives you access to it in ME2).

I always save Ashley not because i like her but because I don't. It's more interesting to have that respect based on action yet not necessarily being too similar. You argue with ash and change her outlook by the end while Kaiden just kinda bores me.

They're both interesting characters, but Ashley's arc is much stronger. You can actually call her on her xenophobia and she can demonstrate actual growth, while Kaidan (if you play as Femshep) comes off as a creepy "nice guys finish last" misogynist, and the game treats his behavior as normal/charming. Never missed him in 9/10 of my playthroughs.

The alien characters are much more intresting. Hell even Kirrahe is more iintresting than the human squadmates combined. But i chose to kill Ashley because i hated her stupid poetry, believing in god and xenophobia. Kaidan comes off as a whiner mostly and very bland.

In ME2 and ME3, sure, I agree, but in ME1 Tali is literally a walking codex made for throwing exposition at a player with very little actual character, Garrus is basically a cliche "cop disillusioned by the system" trope and Liara is... well, Liara. Both human squadmates get by far the most development in ME1. True, Kaidan is boring. True, Ashley has bad traits. But at least they have character which can't be said about ME1 Tali. People only love Tali and Garrus in ME1 so much, because they played ME2 and ME3 where they are much more interesting.

But that does not mean she does not have any character. Ofcourse the human squadmates get the most development. They are in your party right away. But despite this i never cared about either of them. People loved Tali and Garrus before ME2 even came out so that's not true.

For Wrex? He got his family’s armor for Wrex prior to this mission so my understanding is that you don’t need the Paragon or Renegade options to keep Wrex alive.

Well, history is written by the winners, so, since the Council races eventually "won" (by acting like cowards and using a disease, instead of facing them down on the field of battle), they didn't want to look weak by saying that they were ALL almost conquered by a single race. so they called it the weaker-sounding "Rebellions", instead of the more accurate "War", or "Conquest".

@@quwykxz they did fight them on the die of of battle. The krogan dropped asteroids on them from orbit and their fast reproduction allowed them to sustain their losses and wear the others down. There was little to no other option; guaranteed humans would have been enslaved or wiped out had the Krogan been successful. That being if they didn’t collapse due to overpopulation.

They weren't "almost" conquered, in fact as far as we are aware only claimed uncolonized worlds were actually conquered albeit defeat would be inevitable. 5. @@tellietubbiesgoboom She isn't my favourite character in the series for sure but people are way too harsh on her for her distrust of aliens, like i get it but other characters like Garrus make dodgy species charged comments about the Krogan or the Quarians "getting what they deserved" (paraphrased) which people overlook. The audience apply a bit of a double standard to humans in the game holding them to higher standards than the alien companions when such an attitude is actually pretty typical for the setting due to all these species having long histories of conflict with one another. That and she does improve along her character arc in later games (if she lives).
