Can I use this in ableton live 12. Bought a sample pack from you. Please do let me cos its saying this is not for this version of live
@BrianFunkMusicКүн бұрын
It will work on Live 12 but the versions with the Echo device require Live Suite. But there are also versions built for Live Standard, try opening those. Let me know if that helps!!!

Heard detuning midi instruments -32 cents will show middle A at 432, lower A at 216, etc. in Tuner. So a guitar tuned to A=432 reference will sound in tune with, e.g., a midi piano detuned -32 cents.

The jazz/extended chords at the midpoint were unexpected but made for a really cool transition. I think you should consider using this start more often if you rarely do it anymore (I love your other stuff too but this feels extra deep and authentic to your emotions, maybe striping it down had to get you in a different mindset?). Very effective lyrics and performance! Inspires me to do the same as I have typically been starting with percussion or bass these days when I used to only write with guitar. Happy new year!

Yea, when you only have one instrument, it's easier to explore how to get more out of it. When you are producing a whole track sometimes you just move on to the next thing. I love all kinds of approaches! They all lead to different results. I'd never write this on the computer, but I'd never write those other songs on the guitar! Keep going with your Jamuary! Best of luck!

really cool live performance! love the vocal effects, almost all live tweaks were with Move too (wasn't sure how the push was used)? love the spacey, mellow feel of the arrangement too
@BrianFunkMusic2 күн бұрын
I used Push to write the parts, which I did before recording this. That's not a Move though, it's an APC40 MKII. I did all of the effects and clip launching on the APC. I don't think I touch the Push in the video. Thanks for listening in!

I saw a great piece of advice on Tik Tok regarding mixing - basically turn something UP! Make something stick out and grab attention. Stop making your mixes so polite and safe! He was 💯 right, advice I’m taking on board. Your video reminds me of this ie to commit to an idea and don’t look back

I have hundreds of projects in old versions of Ableton. Nightmare. Those missing files have generic names, so there are heaps of wrong results. Nothing in the Save dialogue box tells you to save each project to a new folder and to collect all and save. Ableton needs to sort this stuff out properly.
@G.OBeats5 күн бұрын
Thank you Brian, I appreciate that, so I have a question, I created the tunning for 432hz like your steps, but when I will export the project still appearing just the standard options (22050, 32000, 44100, 48000... etc) this type of export option will not change my project again for another Hz? instead of the 432hz?
@BrianFunkMusic5 күн бұрын
You don't need to worry about that, it's a different calculation. The export has to do with the sample rate or how many samples per second. It will not change the pitch of your project. 432HZ has to do with the reference pitch A is tuned to. A 432 is slightly lower in pitch than the standard or A 440.

Hey Brian, love your videos. Especially these type where you dig in to the mental obstacles and show us the right way. Thank you for that. Sometimes when I’m working on a project for Some time, i can run out of creative juice and feel the need to render things to audio and import them into a new, clean project. How do you feel about this? It kinda makes me feel like an amateur who doesnt finish the project in 1 project file like a lot of my idols do.
@BrianFunkMusic9 күн бұрын
Thanks for listening and glad to hear you enjoy these ones. I think that's actually a great idea. It basically means you are making commitments to your sounds and effects. It's a way to clean things up and move forward. In fact, a lot of times I do something similar. For example, in the last track I released called "Tell Me the Answer", I did a Save As so I could experiment with a different arrangement. To do it, I had to mix my drums to a stereo track. It helped me finish the song! I don't think there's any merit or value in finishing a song in one project. It doesn't make the final product sound any better. If cleaning things up and starting fresh helps you finish then do it! That's way better than not finishing. I think whatever you need to do to keep the inspiration and creativity flowing is well worth it!

Thank you Brian after a while there is a noticeable difference in playing in 432. I’ve been playing and recording that way for a couple years now. Why does it cause to detune some of my melodies :,(
@BrianFunkMusic25 күн бұрын
That's exactly what it is doing, detuning everything around the A=432Hz reference pitch rather than the standard A=440Hz. If some sounds are not being detuned it's likely because it's a MIDI instrument that doesn't support MPE or an audio file.
@gabrielelijah81224 күн бұрын
