I think people are missing his point. He doesn’t have an issue with any of the MPC’s except the MPC X SE. Thats the only one Ski talks about. If you gonna charge $2500 for a machine make it sound better than the other models. It’s the flagship. We know the difference between a 2 series BMW and a 7 series BMW and it ain’t just looks.

Here is what I see and have said multiple times since the EA Ski converter debate. The New MPCs are made from stock part inventory from InMusic, Akai only has access to that technology hence why they keep putting the exact same technology in all there MPCs, into new shells. I hear people keep saying Akai will innovate and come up with something new or have better quality converters but they won't. Akai will carry on using the exact same technology and when there is new technology it will be for all InMusic brands not just Akai.

1. The music in the background jammin 2. You made a good point about the youth not caring about the stuff older folks care about. Most of the waves of production that changed hip hop and r&b came from younger folk. Neptunes, Dallas Austin, jd, timbaland, devante swing, teddy riley etc.
@SoundstarMusic9 күн бұрын
Great Video! Just a few thoughts I have; (1) The word "Producer" traditionally has meant one who works with talent to craft something both parties enjoy and then present that to the world. Just like music has evolved, the term has evolved with it and now that same "Producer" term in this very generation is what is called a "Beat Maker". Traditional music producers are "beat makers" as well...Dr. Dre, Timbaland, Neptunes etc...just to name a few. But then there are the Pete Rocks of the world. He and Common just released a album but did he "Produce" Common or did Common here some beats and say "Thats fire ..let me write to it"? Both things actually occurred. The point im making is that a "producer" by your definition is a person that sits with an artist and crafts something together but in society today, you don't always have to craft something from scratch and sit with an artist if they have a catalog of music to present. If nothing sticks then we go make something that does.. Hope that makes sense. (2) The reason we probably don't see beatmaker/producers working with artist a lot on this platform is (1) some are actually hobbyist with a lot expensive gear and they want to show their audience their process, (2) many are instrumentalist that prefer not to work with artist at all for various reasons, (3) some are gifted musicians that work for companies that sponsor their content and (4) others may be contractually prohibited from sharing. I said all that to say this, working with a artist in the modern music era and most definitely the technological era of social media no longer constitutes whether someone is a "producer" or "beatmaker" anymore but it is truly a subjective conversation at this point. (3) I believe technology itself has created such a low barrier to entry that some of the points that I made above are the result. Whenever it is easy to do or at least seemingly easy to replicate something everyone will attempt to do it and some may do it better than others. From that point they'll showcase their latest tools and whatnot and make it look very appealing. Then from there everyone will say I need that thing to get that sound (insert your favorite thing here lol). The reality is we are all hybrids of both worlds nowadays and must embrace how younger folks move and move wit it at the same time. Just sharing some of my thoughts on the topic not geared toward you individually but I know this topic is HUGE in our community. 👌🏾💯 Here's a artist I produced. Artist: PAYBAK -> kzbin.info/www/bejne/eaKUc4Bqd5iMbrc Song: Run It Produced by Me

Great Perspective! Can definitely agree on a lot of points You've covered! I guess I was really reminiscing on the old days! These days there are so many different sectors of the business and music itself that this is an ongoing conversation that needs to be had and hopefully out of it comes some new perspectives on how to advance our community or I would say sometimes "Tribe"! I'm working on a video addressing the toxic music production community, It's based off of a couple successful youtube producer channels recent videos on this topic. My take is that I had the exact same type of trolls and toxic behaviour towards Me, including death threats but on a political channel 7 years ago. That tells its KZbin and social media in general is toxic and always has been.

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE WITH YOUR VIDEO! Thank you for calling it out…I’m getting ready to start a channel DEDICATED to actually TALKING about the music ….in plain English. No frills. No fuss. Not even being mean. IN FACT…. I’m kinda new to KZbin and I have noticed that ALL the channels I THOUGHT were going to be about actually TALKING about the music… are actually just a bunch of dudes who all look the same, talking about drama and gossip, starting shit with each other and then trying to sell you whatever at the end…. NOT COOL. I don’t care that this rapper has beef with blah blah blah. I was tempted to waste 20 bucks submitting a song for Kurtis King to listen to just so I could see his reaction IRL over the internet… but its not worth investing in to get nothing out of it. ANYONE can say they are a producer. And anyone can learn that job. But some of us dont care about how long someone has been in the music industry, because all it means is you shook a bunch of people’s hands and there’s a story attached which includes illegal shit, and yeahyeahyeah no thanks. I’m trying to ACTUALLY IMPROVE and I have invested quite a bit so that I could make MY OWN damn music with ALL the instruments because I LOVE MUSIC. ESPECIALLY RAP/Hip-Hop. Since 1993. One Rap song knocked me sideways and I went LIMEWIRE INSANE on the whole genre. AND hands down…. The Aussies from down under…. They Really REALLY have some quality rap music and they collaborate bc I guess being all the way out in the ocean on the same island? Or maybe they are just really cool.

Protools is still considered the industry standard because it is the DAW that is used in University's music production education. Weather or not a DAWs been made to make hits is basically irrelevant that is not what makes the DAW the industry standard.
@thatailor_20 күн бұрын
Standard was when digital was first intro 44.1 16bit CD quality but once the digital format went global nothing mattered how ever you got what they need in what ever format they requested the didn't care that's why there is more than one DAW. if there was a standard it would be One DAW everyone use. 🤷🏿♂️

I think if you can’t produce with something as capable as the Key 37, you can’t produce. Less is more! I’m aiming to get one so I don’t have to drag out tons of gear to lay tracks down. Some of my favorite albums of all time “sound like shit” and were recorded on “crap.” Shit, some of the people doing the best making music these days are working in “studios” that cost less than some of my guitars, and cheers to them!

Ok you start off with the first point which I agree with "Timboland normally use a pre selected sample and is not a creat digger" That's the main problem I have is he didn't creat dig it looks fake and pre planned, staged video with pre Selected records, one of which was already used by Kenya West in 05. What's the chance of Timbo and his team having no clue about that record? He contradicted him self several times it just looks like Timboland payed to have Mass Appeal do make a ad for Beatclub. Look at Timberlands vid fake staged vid vs the latest with the real Claspers vid where it actually looks genuine and real.

1) the market is FLOODED with 5 million artist who are making records on their computers at home. 2) all of this music is way too EASILY accessible for FREE. youtube, facebook, tic toc, and a million other social media channels will give direct and IMMEDIATE access to whatever is “supposedly hot” for FREE. 3) a lot of the younger generation DONT KNOW ( and DONT CARE) what a cd 💿 or an album is. it seems to me that you have to create a social media buzz for your music, and then get paid SELLING MERCH and LIVE SHOWS based on the popularity of your music. but as far as selling music DIRECTLY? ( especially in the pop culture) the game is NO LONGER THE SAME

@PJBlickАй бұрын
I got mine coming in as an early Christmas gift to myself, and my hype levels are through the roof! The main reason why I'm getting it is the fact that they merged a DAW with 2 playing instruments. Now I don't need to have to get multiple pieces of equipment, a studio room, and tail chasing to make sure the pads and keyboard match up to the DAW to avoid latency. They merged it all in a nice, small, neat, package, that doesn't require any set up and the production is real time. No fiddling around to get things to line up, the 37/61 is really a game-changer.
