Definitely perfect for a walk behind mower 😎☝️We mowed this back in the summer of 22' and it had been raining for weeks 🤔It was close to 6 weeks of growth if my memory serves me right.

how many hours do you go between greasing the spindles? i’m trying to find a balance of excessively greasing them and wasting grease, and not doing it enough and shortening the life of the spindles. have you replaced many spindles? they seem to hold up well. thanks!!

I'm not exactly sure how many hours you should go before greasing your spindles. I've just recently lost my first spindle on our big mower and it has 2300 hours on it 🤷 It really depends on how and where you are using the mower. I know in the spring and fall , I use half the amount of grease. I can easily do 100 pumps into each spindle after using the mower all week in hot temperatures. You won't waste the grease 🤓☝️ There is a check valve at the bottom of the spindle underneath the deck on the aluminum style that will release the grease if you pump too much. The larger cast iron spindles release the grease at the top of the mower deck, below the pulleys.

Wow 😮 Are you running through a bunch rain or something? Water kills the bearings on those pully' s . I just recently found out that Ferris started putting larger diameter (rain guard/ covers ) I went back and replaced them after I recorded this video.

@ all cut when it’s wet I have a small commercial company solo guy, I also wash my machines, but try to blow them off with a leap blower, also was mulching leaves with it a lot, which is probably a heavier load on it, I pulled the guards off to clean out easier

@@jimb1073Yeah, I removed my covers and use a mulch kit as well. It does more strain on everything while mulching for sure! It's always a good idea to turn the blades on for a minute after washing the mower . This will help sling most the water out of the bearings on the pullys.

Did you say how many hours the pullies had on them? Have you ever had the belt break while mowing? Fortunately, I don't need any tools to change my blade belt. I can pull the tensioner by hand enough to roll the belt off. Same with my hydro belt.

I didn't mention how many hours 🤔 I think the mower has close to 700 hrs on it now. I actually just had to replace the larger of the 2 belts on this mower 🤓☝️

🤔 I forgot where I picked that thing up? It is a adjustable length for more leverage ( Breaker bar/ Lug wrench ) 1/2" size, 🤔🤓☝️maybe Walmart
