We had a outside cat name peach the orange devil you truly haven’t known my cat if you wasn’t scratch by her! She lived and successful 20 years of life before she died to old age she went out peacefully but throughout her life. Her 9 lives was definitely tested! She was so cool to see mostly growing up with her she was a year older than me it been over 4 years now but I won’t forget about you peaches

People seriously need to realize the problems with letting their cats just run off into the wilderness. The countless threats that cats pose to native bird populations should be taken to account, that and the risk your putting your cat in by letting them outside. Multiple cats have gone missing where I live, and every time I see a missing poster, I turn and look at our nearby forest reserve.

Cat on cat crime is out of control

The first thing I noticed on that "domestic" cat was the tag around its neck. Domestics, left outside, will go feral, so we don't really have all the facts on this specific kitty-kitty, but the message is still the same: If you're going to have a house cat, have a HOUSE cat. They're no different than any other invasive species when allowed to roam outdoors. Yeah, yeah, I understand the "farm cat" thing, they are great mousers, but they're also very hard on the songbirds, which are declining in numbers anyway, and they carry diseases that are bad for humans. Please, don't be afraid of anyone's feelings, pass this information on to anyone you know that let's their house cats run "naturally." They're invasive and do harm to the ecological balances. I have a neighbor who has been very outspoken on this topic. He and his son have told everyone within a 1/2 mile that if a cat is found on their property, it's not coming home. EVERY week, there's a post on a local media forum of people looking for their missing cats within a 10 sq.mi. area. It's ridiculous, the number of people that cannot properly care for a cat! "Living their best life" does not include allowing them to attempt blending into an unfamiliar, wild environment, where THEY are an invasive species.
