Just some advice that if you didn't have a disc to put in the bottom of the water bath canner you can also use a towel put it down in there first and then put the jars on top just an idea

Great video! It should be mentioned that fermentation increases the complexity of the flavours in the sauce however if heating for “shelf stability” it will kill healthy part of the fermentation process leaving you with very tasty hot sauce without the health benefit of the fermentation process

@prettyprettycapricorn6431 they went crazy haha. This was a couple years ago and I have since moved to 7 acres. We got about 8-10 pumpkins total, but boy do those vines like to spread out!

KZbin is not a great source for food preservation recipes. There are plenty of approved pickle recipes online and in published materials. Online just search for what you want to pickle and"extension" and you will find many picking and canning recipes from county extension offices throughout the United States. These recipes have been tested and approved and many times you will find that"grandmas family recipe" was actually an approved recipe. But find them yourself it's good to use tested recipes when preserving food.

@@ericw1641 I would ferment then add some roasted peppers to the mix at time of processing. Roasting could sterilize the peppers and make them take longer to ferment.

I’m about to make these pickles. I have pickling spice. Is that ok to use instead of the fresh stuff? Also, I only have pink Himalayan salt. Is that ok? It doesn’t say it contains iodine. TIA!

Was the Brine hot when you added it to the cukes? thank you for this video. I had to throw out 10 jars of dill pickles, they were mush and tooo salty. Gonna try again with your recipe.

I'm in Stockholm - Sweden and I think I'm zone 7 - I'm originally from Italy and gardening is a completely different ball game here struggling to understand what to plant and when - I was looking for something like your schedule - in Italy you feel like an amazing gardener, you just drop some sweets and magic happes - in Sweden is a constant struggle and I feel so helpless when I lose my plants 😊😊😊
