Your door brace runs in the wrong direction. It needs to run from top opening corner to bottom corner on hinge side. This transfers weight back to the hinge side. This prevents door sag.

Really great video! This is the best video for a greenhouse of this type that I have seen! I do have one suggestion for something you could easily add later...that would be two windows at the top of the back (would need two since you have a center vertical brace--or one on one side_-that hinge at the bottom. I ran commercial greenhouses for years, and the heat buildup is usually at the top. roll up sides at the bottom, with a window that vents at the top, will create a much better air convection in there, which is great for your plants! I haven't seen a follow up video to see how it did last summer, but I'm going to look for that now. Thank you so much for this detailed, super-good instructional video!

Thank you for for that! I actually just moved and need to put it back up. I may see about trying to vent higher up in the back.

Thank you for your service and for showing us this! I just have a question, I am building this with my children, I have no experience with building, so this is a challenge. But in your list you have furring strips. What are those used for? I don’t see them in the video and I have no idea what they would be used for. - Thank you
@virginiagraceliving
@virginiagraceliving Жыл бұрын
Happy to help! I'm not a super handy guy either believe it or not. The furring strips run along the outside length of the top wood rail to secure the plastic to the frame. I am going to work on an update video to cover some of the questions that have been asked as well. So be sure to subscribe and click the bell to get notified when a new video comes out! God Bless 🙌

Very cheap and works great, “rebar”. Simply drill a 1/2” hole through the bottom board and hammer a piece of rebar through it and into the ground as deep as you think you’ll need. I installed 4 on each side lengthwise and 2 evenly space on the short ends. My build measures 8x16. Ps: My build is on a slope so I used 2x10’s on one side to compensate for leveling. I just had to buy a longer bit so I could drill through the 10” lumber. Each of my rebars extends 12 or more inches into the ground. Rebar and drill bit came to about $15 @ Lowe’s.

Great job! I am planning to build me an 7.3”x10’ greenhouse in my backyard. I plan to use the 50”x16’ cattle panels. Just curious, with your 27” height frame to connect the panels to, how high is the center from ground to the top of the arch? I will be using 2x6’s for my sides, but can’t decide if I need to attach some added height to get a 7’ height in the center.
@virginiagraceliving
@virginiagraceliving Жыл бұрын
Mine is well over 7ft in the center. I may do an update video and go over the measurements in better depth, but if I had to guess I'd say it's close to 10-12ft at center.
@Alicia652
@Alicia652 Жыл бұрын
Oh wow! I don’t need it to be that tall. I ordered a 10x7x7’ greenhouse cover, so I need it to be at least 7ft in the center. Thank you for you very detailed description and supply list. I wish you happy gardening!
