People don't understand or appreciate what this knife actually is. It's the most revolutionary thing to hit the knife market in decades. Not only is the tang junction the STRONGEST part of the knife, but it achieves this with a full flat crossguard and the overall form factor of a combat knife without compromises. For the most part, if you wanted an overbuilt knife with the geometry to handle regular batonning you were stuck with ESEE and Becker type blades that were very poor combat knives. The CSDFS is actually even stronger than those knives while simultaneously being a much better combat knife. It's a free lunch.

@joshdoddadbod26 күн бұрын
@@strudelNL I'd say probably more offroad oriented. The armor is very rubbery which I would imagine would grab on pavement. They have other versions with hard armor that probably would be more suited to sliding in a fall.

@@strudelNL I would email them. I think it's more offroad oriented due to the soft rubbery nature of the armor. I don't think it would slide. Hard armor would be better for street use as it would allow sliding.

$400 for another 25 miles? Had that option with my 21 WR450F. No can do. Instead I chose to stuff 2 two litre gas bottles in my Tusk saddle bags. I will do the same with my new KLX 300 when I need the extra range. Too bad no one is able to make at least a 3.5 gallon tank for both bikes. I believe Safari makes a 3.3 for my WR which requires cutting the shrouds. The bottom line: For some the extra range is a deal maker and for some the $400 is a deal breaker.

Dont get why anyone wants soft protection on the elbows. That is one part that will often touch the ground when fallen off. And man, soft protections hurt. Even the cheapest hard protections are better. The force of the impact gets spread out instead of concentrating to one small area. Ask someone to hit you with a bat on a soft protection and then a hard and you'll get it

I got my KLX300 a year and a half ago with the hopes that there would eventually be a bigger tank (as in bigger than 2.7gal) available for it. Still waiting, and getting impatient... I may have to get the 2.7 while I wait - the fuel range on this bike is the only thing I hate about it. I do have a rotopax knock off for planned longer runs, but I don't want all that weight on my rear fender... I did send an email to multiple manufacturers to try and convince them that a bigger tank is needed for this bike, and I'd encourage anyone to do the same - they just might if we keep bugging them! Anyway, I thought I'd share my $0.02 - and to say hello to another Canadian KLX300 rider! 🍻

Yea you will always miss some aspects of a bike. You are making the compromise of having a lighter bike offroad and having less power than the dr. The grass is always greener on the other side. Personally, I’m looking to add that same fuel tank and the Rotopack 1.5 gallon fuel tank in addition. A couple buddies of mine and I are looking into going on a few Oregon BDR trips. There’s some huge empty space in Eastern Oregon, and having the extra 2.3 gallons of fuel should be just about perfect. I like the idea of adding weight up front, not just in the back because it’s already getting loaded down with saddle bags. That tank looks great as well. You can’t even tell it’s an aftermarket tank, and I hate the looks of desert tanks. Plus, adding 27% of fuel capacity is worth the money to me. I’ve already ran out of gas once, I really don’t want to do that again. That extra .7 gallons would’ve allowed me to get back with extra fuel to spare. Great video!!! I’m subscribing 👍
