I really think the old datsuns 280z's are the perfect cars for a restomod. Yours looks gorgeous! But what it needs now is a really hot engine, gearbox and suspension. Nothing outrageous but maybe 350bhp? An old 3.2 bmw m3 engine would do it well.

A proper repaint starts around $9-12k, so don't bring a car you love to Maaco. People are so ignorant sometimes...

Sucks that the dumbest part of the datsun z cars is the suspension. Shame that did a design Flore like that but oh well still doable just a pain in the ass

Looks good your lucky you got a decent deal on the initial price of the car. My 55 Chevy was 10k it came with a bunch of parts but I need them no selling parts for me lol. Your paint cost sounds a little on the high side but then red is the most expensive and it depends on the quality of the paint you choose.

looks very sleek without the front and rear bumpers. but i kinda dig the bumpers for nostalgic reasons; they are so unsightly that makes them cool.
@benheynen27052 жыл бұрын
Little bit clickbaity but nice car. You definitely got lucky with the purchase and the generic parts are never expensive, it's the rust and getting someone else to do the work that costs the cash. Hope there is no hidden rust and keep it dry!

I just saw one for sale for $13000. It’s not a completed build, but they auto shop selling it has the seats, mirrors, etc so I can put it together. They said the engine was rebuilt and only has 5 miles. They also said the transmission is new, the suspension is new and it’s a race suspension. The doors need aligning and the front wheels need some spacers to be able to put the wheel hub locks on. Paint job looks good. And it’s seems to run well, they turned it on and revved it. Do you guys think this is a good buy? Is the price good? It’s a 1976 280z.

It’s is also a 4speed manual.
